Room was dusty with cobwebs on the ceiling could be doing with a deep clean. We arrived to be told they had no space for us at dinner & would book a taxi for us to eat out, bit disappointed when you are a paying guest @ £155 for the night.Car park is so small with only a couple of spaces they ask if you are going to go out when you arrive.

A great hotel. Amazing views. Clean, bright rooms. Brilliant mattress and pillows. Best sleep we've had in a hotel. Bathroom was immaculate. Alan, Nicola and Callum couldn't do more to make your stay more enjoyable. Breakfast cooked to order by Alan the owner. I challenge you to find a better breakfast anywhere. As the weather wasn't so good, we dined in at night. So glad we did, the food was delicious. Cannot recommend The Haylie Hotel highly enough.

My review is solely on the restaurant, as we didn't stay here.I'd heard about The Haylie being a good steakhouse and had wanted to give it a try. 4 of us went along for dinner and came away very impressed. I had the 8oz fillet the others has 8oz sirloin, a chicken dish and a scampi. Now I am very finicky about my steak temperature and like it on the rarer side (red but not bloody). More often than not my steak is overcooked, which I hate. The steak here was (a) cooked absolutely perfectly and (b) was wonderfully tasty, and not overly fatty. Everything else was cooked wonderfully too - even the chips must have been double fried as they were wonderfully crisp.Service was great and prices were very reasonable.
