The rooms were really bad. There were loud noises all night as there’s a bar in the same building!!!!!! Also I showered couple times in cold water because they “ran out” of hot water, the hostel is in the fourth floor without an elevator in the building, which made it really hard for me with all the luggages that I had, females and males shared only three toilets in the floor, which was really disgusting because there were at least 30 people using those toilets, additionally, the location, even though it’s very central it’s in some hidden alleys and as a solo female traveler, I did not feel comfortable each night I went back to the hostel however the staff were really nice and they were willing to help in everything, I think that it’s just the hostel’s situation isn’t the best.

Room was spacious and facilities clean. Staff on site were helpful. Only thing to note is that full payment is taken 48hrs prior to your stay (not mentioned in email) and that they cancel your booking immediately if payment does not go through. Which caused a bit of panic on my part because everything in Edinburgh was booked out for the weekend. I managed to rebook in time so other than that it was a nice hostel to spend a few nights.

The hostel was very clean! The staff does a great job of keeping things in order. The location is great too. The kitchen was easy to navigate and the induction stove tops are dope. They have tea and I think coffee and a hot water dispenser. The only negatives I can think of is that it's not accessible for people with mobility related disabilities as there are many stairs (although that's not something that can be changed as the businesses are just tenants in the building I assume), and the lack of laundry facilities if you are interested in staying long-term.

I visited this hostel on 25th September 24’Had a Male Dormitory with 6 beds in the room. All the rooms have double decker beds. Fortunately my room had only two guests staying.Toilets are the cleanest.Had soap in every room with sinks in each room.Kitchen is fully equipped.Lounge room for hanging out and eating.

The 6-female room is not spacious. There are no other facilities in the room apart from the bed and a sink. There is no need for you to make your own bed, which is quite soft. There are lockers under the beds which need to either bring your own lock or pay £4 to buy one from reception. There is a bar downstairs that can be a little noisy at weekend night, but it's perfectly acceptable (FYI: I once spent the night on the floor at Heathrow). The bathrooms and toilets were clean, with diffusers, and God knows how many times a day they had to clean them, given that dozens of people shared three toilets and two bathrooms, and of course there were additional toilets and bathrooms opposite the reception desk.If you shower at 8pm you get hot water as good as the Hilton's. But if you wash at 10pm, the water will be a bit cold and you'll need to convince yourself to put your body under the shower, but after a minute it will feel ok. But considering it's July, if it's winter, you'd better come back early. The lounge is not big but the kitchen is well equipped. If you need to use a hairdryer just go to reception and ask for one, they are very helpful.Highly recommend buying the £4.20 breakfast vouchers, they are not the instant coffee and long shelf life lidl bagged croissants that the hostel itself provides. Rather, they are freshly made breakfast rolls and coffee redeemed at the snax downstairs - cheaper than if you buy them on the spot, but they need to be taken away.Due to the room is on the fourth floor, be prepared to climb the stairs, which of course the hostel has already warned you on their website and emails.Considering I was on a budget and booking at the last minute, hoping for a well-located accommodation (right opposite the train station, as long as you don't take the wrong exit) and couldn't accept triple bunk beds (absolutely not!) , and a high expectation of cleanliness in the toilets. This was arguably the best and only option.

Over the 4 days I stayed here I did not get a hot shower once. Every one was almost I've cold. The door thresholds on the top floor are very short so you will hit your head if you are tall. Check in was a hassle as well.

Basic rooms. Clean, but very noisy due to live music nightclub below. Steep spiral stair case not good for older people as no lift. Very central to city centre though.

Kind and helpful staff, with luggage storing service on the day of checkout. Showers on the bottom hallway were locked during my stay, which left us all with one shower choice on the hallway above. The lounge automatically turns off the light during the late night (2 am). No chair in the room.

Great location, the staff is lovely and the bedrooms and facilities are very clean. The kitchen is very functional, everything you need is accessible. You can leave your luggage if you come/leave early/late and that’s a great point. The other travelers were really nice.Just be aware that there’s no lift and it’s on the 4th floor. Also, the payment is made two days before and not when you book the bedroom, which I didn’t understood. However the staff responded fast.Great experience, I’ll go there for sure if I come back to Edinburgh!
