Service very friendly and welcoming from staff. Decent location and not too far from centre. Decent price compared to rest of Edinburgh……large room and very comfortable bed. Bathroom a bit dated, could do with upgrading. Bar area lacks any real atmosphere and has a “cold empty” feel to it. Decent breakfast buffet.

Booked 2 rooms for 04/10 on a dinner bed and breakfast rate. The restaurant has a short menu and 3 items were off the menu, no substitute offered and really not much in the way of an apology. To be fair the food we ordered was ok. …

This is the 3rd visit we have had to a Mal Maison as it is dog friendly. We have had 2 great stays before in other cities but in Edinburgh our dog was treated like a prince. …

We loved our stay at the Malmaison, just outside the city city but a 15 minute tram (cost £2) it was well worth being out of the hustle and bustle after a day of sightseeing! The hotel is modern, clean and had a good vibe. The junior suite we stayed in was vast and the facilities excellent. We had dinner and breakfast within the restaurant and both were great, good sized portions and well presented. We had a great stay and would definitely return if in Edinburgh again!

Good location, tram from airport to hotel in 45 mins and only for £7. 3 min walk from stop to hotel. Tram is really handy to get into the centre of Edinburgh. Leith has been polished up with some nice pubs and restaurants around. Malmaison is always great for breakfast. Nice big bath and good decor rooms. Good beds. A top brand of hotels.

I visited the Malmaison Edinburgh in August 2023. My trip was arranged at short notice so I paid a premium price. The hotel is in an beautiful location, albeit distant from the city centre. The hotel is modern and well maintained. The staff are courteous and efficient. My room was comfortable and warm. The best part of the trip was Chez Mal Restaurant which serves imaginative food. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay in Edinburgh but book well in advance to save money.

The room was fine with a comfortable bed but there was no bottle of water provided until I asked for it. Apparently, according to the maid, bottles of water were in short supply, in Scotland! The breakfast was awful. …
