Visited for a dog friendly dinner when in newton stewart. Food was nice, good variety throughout the menu of items to choose. Unfortunately service was very poor, delayed, long waits, meal without drinks - not great. No water accessible for the dogs which would have been handy.

Great location, most rooms are great. We had booked 4 males in here and were given a single room and a family room with a double bed and a single bed. After moving rooms twice, we ended up in 3 rooms! The young lady on reception was very helpful but clearly didn't know what type of bed and how many in each room. The breakfast service is 5-star. Nothing was too much bother, the food was excellent and a great selection of continental breakfast. We were so full I couldn't finish my full Scottish breakfast. 😃

Really nice meal in modern surroundings. Reasonably priced, couple of nice ipa's on offer. Special mention for the 2 young lads that work the bar and restaurant. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Arrived for food at 5.20pm on the off chance was told no food served until 5.30pm so ordered a drink at the bar and told could get a table at 5.30pm. Got to 5.40pm asked if we could then move to a table to be told by staff ‘not just now give it a few minutes’ almost 50 minutes later no service someone rang bell to which the bar staff gave a dirty look and asked “what is it” we left and went elsewhere for served within 5mins. Never had such poor service. If too busy or unwilling to serve food why advertise…

Comfy restaurant and we had excellent service from the barmaid. The food was nice but nothing special. If you're looking for somewhere comfortable and not too noisy for a nice dinner then this is the place. The curry wasn't the best but does the job if you're not bothered about having a fancy meal and the steak pie was good.

Good food and friendly service. I had one of the best steak and ale pies that I have had. Recommended.
