Recently stayed here for 2 nights. Had a lovely stay, staff very polite and attentive. Good location to the activities we had planned and wanted to do. We ate here both nights and had breakfast here both mornings. The evening meals were amazing! Can't fault the service or the cook, wonderful portion size and fairly priced! The only downside was the thin walls, we could hear the people above us listening to music and snoring. But we would still stay here again because of how lovely the service was.

Wheyrigghall is conveniently situated for touring both the lakes and the south of Scotland. Staff extremely welcoming and efficient. Room was clean and tidy and the bed was comfy. We ate in the restaurant service and food all to a high standard and reasonably priced. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked another 3 days inSeptember. Can't wait to return.

If you're looking for a warm welcome and somewhere to spend a convivial couple of hours over a pint then this isn't the place for you and you should go somewhere else.We stood at the bar, directly in front of the barmaid who totally ignored our presence. Not a nod of acknowledgement, not even a smile. Walked straight through the pair of us to take a drink to another table. No wonder the place was empty bar the few locals propping up the bar in no doubt the same seats they've sat at for the last 20 years. We live less than 10 mins away by car but we'll not bother going back.Do yourselves a favour and don't bother going at all. There's far nicer places with a genuine welcome within 10mins or so of the Wheyrigg.
