The stay was fine. The location is perfect, very close to Waverly station where you can take express trains to other cities. The bus stop from the airport is also close. Most tourist attractions are within walking distance. The room I booked was a single private room in the attic. The room was small but quiet and I slept well. There was a TV and a heater that you could change the temperature. The kitchen, common room, and bathroom were clean. The shower room on the upper floor did not have a hairdryer, but the one on the lower floor did. The kitchen was well equipped. There was no elevator, so I was tired of going up the stairs to carry my luggage to the attic. The bathrooms and kitchen were downstairs, so getting there was a bit of a hassle. There is a pool table in the common room, and there are many groups of young people in the evening, so it may not be suitable for those who want to spend quiet time. Luggage drop-off before check-in is free, but after check-out, it costs £3.5 or £3.75, although I don't remember exactly. You cannot use the washing machine by yourself, you have to give your laundry to the staff. So I did not ask for it...

Booked a 2 twin bed room and was very pleasantly surprised by this place! Right in the bustling city center so very walkable to all the slights (but get ready for hills and lots of people) - about a 10 minute walk to the castle. Check in was easy and the lady at reception helped us with our bags. The rooms are in a separate building just down a flight of stairs on the alley. Our room was right in the door which was convenient but a bit loud at night as people were walking down the alley. But it felt very safe. No lift in this building or the main one. Basically a hotel room with a couch, TV, and kettle. Beds were surprisingly comfortable and we both slept very well! Bathroom was very small, but towels were provided and everything was clean and worked fine. "Kitchen" in that building was literally just a mini fridge, but we didn't explore to see if there was more of one in the other building because they give a discount for the cafe on the corner which was a perfect place to enjoy a coffee, cake, or full breakfast outside and enjoy the ambiance. There is luggage storage and laundry but we didn't utilize these services. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and recommend it!

I wouldn’t recommend this place. I stayed here for two nights because I was a little late with booking a place and other, affordable places were fully booked. There’s no elevator - no problem for me, but good to know if you plan to bring a lot of luggage.Toilets and showers for women were located on the 2nd floor. I was staying on the 3rd floor, so this meant that I had to walk for a bit and go down a flight of stairs just to go to the bathroom (not great in the middle of the night). The toilets and showers were not clean, and there were only two toilets and two small sinks for two entire floors. The showers were stone cold, literally ice cold. I tried two different ones and both didn’t warm up.The room was so so. Very little ventilation and the beds were quite small. There is not a lot of privacy. There were lockers available in the room, but they require a padlock. The overall ambiance of the place just wasn’t great and it could really use an update and regular cleaning. For me, the shower and toilet facilities are an absolute no. Especially for €50 a night, you’d expect a bit more.

Nice basic backpackers hostel. We were able to get a private room, which made it great for us. The only issue was that the room was at the top of the building, and there were a lot of stairs. The front desk staff was excellent. The Hostel is right off of the Royal Mile and convenient to everything.

An excellent stay. The hostel is handy to the train station. As for inside the hostel it is a walk up one or two flights of stairs. The kitchen and dining rooms are excellent. All the people I met were excellent. No complaints. The hostel had an excellent WIFI signal.

It's in a very good location. The staff is very friendly and helpful.Everything was fine with cleanliness. I did not experience ventilation in the closed toilet.A place for young people. You have to climb a lot of stairs, not recommended for the elderly. The room we were in is quite cramped, there is not much space between the beds, and there are not many packing options, but it will do.It's worth it in the short term.

Hostel is located across from the train station just up a set of steps (you can walk around the block if you want to avoid the stairs) and is on a really pretty street. I stayed in a private room and it was quiet and comfortable. The room had a small desk to work at, a window that opened, and a couple of lights. There were sufficient showers and toilets, and they were all quite clean.

We didn't stay at this hostel. Cannot commend their rooms. But we use their luggage storage service. It is the cheapest storage service in town. Each luggage/backpack cost only £5 flat rate for storage until 11:00pm.Our backpacks are well taken care of when we go and explore the city before our train ride back to London in the evening.Friendly staff by the name of Pedro.
