Stayed here for a work contract for a week. Room was superb...and had room service every day. The food in the hotel has been excellent...really good. From the cooked breakfast right through to dinner when we got in. Great choice on the menu, daily specials and a welcome in the Sports Bar. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay a pleasure.

We checked in late Friday afternoon as we were heading to a wedding at Lochside. We stayed in room 15, one of the refurbished rooms. It was spotless and very nicely decorated. Tea/coffee and biscuits complimentary. …

Every Week myself & 8-10 friends have a coffee morning here. And every single week for as far back as I can remember,we have had to complain about something. The Coffee is Luke warm, the cups are dirty, the food not cooked properly etc. One member is Gluten free & the amount of times he is told, there are no gluten free breakfast items available. 2 Weeks running we were told by different staff members that the chef had unplugged the freezer at closing time on the Tuesday evening, once we might have fallen for that story, but not 2 weeks running, plus food does not defrost in less than 12 hours. God knows what they would do if a resident was Gluten free, probably send them to the Dumfries arms for their breakfast. This Morning, our order was taken at 10 am & we finally got our drinks at 10.45, albeit the tea without cups!! Now I'm not saying our group is the easiest to serve, but we are regulars, who spend a lot in here each week. We do expect our food to be cooked to our specifications & we do expect it to be hot, as well as the drinks.. All I can say from reading other reviews, this place must treat residents totally differently from regulars.

For our one night stay this hotel fitted the bill. Our large attic room had very comfortable beds and a large bathroom. However the whole hotel was very 'tired' and in need of modernising and decoration. Our dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were excellent and the staff friendly. I'd stay here again.

It was my first time in this hotel, and it was good to receive a friendly welcome. I didn't have dinner, although the menu looked good and the restaurant looked busy. My bedroom was spotlessly clean and comfortable. A good breakfast set me up for the day. I'll definitely return, many thanks!
