On arrival, the venue does not look as advertised, in a bad way. We were ignored in reception as the housekeeper and receptionist were having a heated discussion about another guest. A young staff member assisted us but was also ignored by her colleagues having this discussion. The room was sad and barely average, but it did the job, was clean enough, and the bed was comfy. In hindsight, it would've been cheaper and a better experience staying at the local Premier Inn. Don't waste your money on this venue.

There is a lack of staff and service. Several times, a 2 way radio was left on reception and there was nobody behind the bar. All the food is self service and not very good.  …

Budget hotel with basic amenities. The the course buffet evening meal was £15 pp and was reasonable quality. The walk to the bar is slightly strange, but drinks were good. The buffet breakfast was decent with unlimited fresh coffee. Our room had been recently renovated and was simple, but clean.

Beautiful country house which has been extended to create a labyrinth so hard to negotiate whilst there. No non slip mat or hand grips in the bath room so had to make do with a wash in the tiny wash hand basin. Food wasn't good, no decaf tea or coffee. On the positive side the hotel was very clean, staff pleasant and the Saturday night entertainment was very good. Shame we were wakenened by someone below our bedroom window at 3.30am having a very loud conversation (I assume on his phone) for at least an hour.

Quite a nice hotel, within a 20 minute drive or so of Ayr, and we went for the Airshow. Rooms were basic but that's what you'd expect for a low price. We did struggle to find our way around to the bar and the place for breakfast, as the signs weren't exactly as clear as they could be (especially on the way back out of the bar). Water pressure in the shower was a bit low but enough for a nice shower.Overall, a great value for what you pay for.Robert was at the front desk when we checked out and was kind enough to give us some Tablet and Shortbread biscuits as a thanks for staying.

I'd have to give this hotel 1 star if it wasn't for the absolutely brilliant staff who did everything they could to make me and my two daughters comfortable during our overnight stay. They really were extremely helpful and professional. Unfortunately, the room we were in was awful, with cobwebs, flaking paint and a single lamp, the shade of which looked like it had done a few rounds with Tyson Fury. Beds were ok. We didn't pay a lot so weren't hugely disappointed.

Adamton country house hotel is the epitome of a cheap hotel. Its rooms are drab dated and slightly dirty, its grounds and shared spaces however are actually quite lovely. Beds are reasonable. On the firmer side, pillows are expertly positioned between one being too thin and two being too high. Our room was helpfully positioned at a junction in the hotels maze like corridors, spurring off into 4 separate corridors all with their own door handily featuring a return arm which caused each door to bang firmly into the frame meaning the night was constantly filled with the sound of slamming doors meaning a restful nights sleep was impossible.Dining options are SEVERELY limited to a buffet style selection of school dinner creations. Zero options of a children’s menu. Evening meals also had zero options for cold drinks! Breakfast was your usual budget buffet style breakfast with coffee and juice on offer. The bar is reasonably priced and has a selection of a few lagers and ciders as well as wine and spirits you’re looking at about £4:80 for a pint.WiFi pricing is as obscene and borderline criminal in a modern age with free WiFi and actual network service available in shared spaces but the rooms on the other hand sucked all network signal and allow the hotel to charge a rancid £7 per device, per day.I’m sure offering rooms for about £100 so close to Glasgow/Prestwick airport draws a steady supply of guests but this really is bargain basement hoteling.Entertainment was available in the evenings in the form of pub singers or the pool table. The lounge area was quiet and comfortable and had a tv and that is where we made our base of an evening.I knew it was going to be cheap and cheerful when we booked it, and in the end it was cheap, and I suppose it was cheerful in a kind of Stockholm syndrome way.
