1000% recommend!! As a young woman solo traveller I felt very safe here and thoroughly enjoyed my time. Facilities clean and modern and pod bunk is more spacious and private than your average hostel bunk bed. …

is great if you are in good physical shape.||for the 80 steps with a suitcase up and down you need a sherpa (I had my hubby for carrying down :-) and a lovely guy at the reception who brought the suitcases up!) …

I don't often stay in hostels so my evening arrival (no reception at the hostel) was a bit confusing to me, but a guardian angel was there, the staff person named Shakira. …

I spent five nights here during Fringe and Book Festival season. It’s a great value for clean, comfortable, and very central accommodations. The face that the beds are “pods” makes the experience much more pleasant than a traditional hostel, along with the very functional and impeccably clean bathroom and common area. The kind, welcoming presence of Shakirah and Cassiano is what made the experience stand out to me. Their warmth and helpfulness made the place feel like home. The rest of the team was lovely, too!

I recently stayed in the penthouse, which had its highs and lows. The room itself was great, and the balcony offered a lovely view, which was definitely a highlight of the stay. However, the bed was quite small, making it rather cozy—perhaps a bit too much so unless you're a couple. On the downside, the noise from the pub kitchen ventilation downstairs was quite disruptive at night, impacting our overall comfort. Additionally, the bathroom didn’t meet my cleanliness expectations. The shower drainage, in particular, left a lot to be desired and was somewhat disappointing.Overall, while there were some nice features, improvements in soundproofing, bathroom maintenance, and bed size would enhance the experience significantly.

The Code Loft staff were amazing and incredibly helpful. Particularly Shakirah and Casiano. They were great with answering my questions and making restaurant and tour suggestions. They went above and beyond in making me feel welcomed and comfortable. I had an incredible time.

I stayed here for two nights and then for two weeks...and loved it both times.Friendly and helpful staff. Thank you Cassiano, Shakirah, Yvo, Amy and Lauren and anyone else I've forgotten - you are all amazing!Great beds/pods, and a well-equipped kitchen/common room with plenty of spots to work with electrical sockets within reach easy. Solid WiFi too of course. And to top it all off, an excellent location. (For example, a spectactular view of Edinburgh Castle greets you on Frederick Street just a couple of turns outside the front door!)

Had a good stay and especially the pod concept made it comfortable enabling privacy. I do not book standard hostels at all but this was a very good alternative to much more hotel rooms or airbnbs. Location is super central
