This is a very nice hotel in a great location. It has the potential to be really good, but is quite dated and shabby in places, which the new owners are aware of. Our room was small but newly painted.  …

The best meal we had on our honeymoon! Definitely for the best price too. Husband had braised beef and I had mac n cheese and they were both beautiful! Portions were fab. Service was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome even though we weren’t staying in the main hotel. Thank you!

I honestly don’t know what all the negative reviews are about, this is the 2nd time we have stayed here and we will absolutely return, the staff are so friendly, the food is amazing and the rooms were so comfy, yes it’s dated but it suits …

Just returned from a two night stay at Dunmar - unfortunately it was just two nights. Our room was huge, the bathroom huge with bath and shower and the whole two rooms were extremely clean.Yes, the rooms are a bit tired but that didn't detract from our stay. The view from the bedroom window was gorgeous!Staff are efficient and friendly ( which sets a good and professional example straight away). We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast on both mornings having plenty to choose from.( I'm not sure putting jam in my porridge is acceptable in Scotland?🤷 ). It was lovely though. We would definitely return here if ever we were in the area 😊

Stayed there for a concert in Stirling, best nights sleep my husband had in a long time, so peaceful, Dinner was delicious. Loved the dogs too. A bit dated but still thought it was great and welcoming. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Booking site stated room would have a river view but never seen a river, think it was booking site error to be honest. We are going back as we never got a chance to walk around the lovely gardens. A wee hidden gem

Hotel overall is tired and urgently needs updating. The shower was cold, had no flow and at one point stopped altogether. Tried to use it at different times but to no avail.  …

We had our daughter’s 3rd birthday party in the function hall at the Dunmar House Hotel at the weekend. The venue is perfect for a birthday party! We live locally but I didn’t realise that the hall was big enough for inflatables. …

Lovely hotel, if a little tired outside and some damp inside. We had a large comfortable room. I can only presume the damp (what looked like a cleaning cupboard) was supposed to be our wardrobe. I wouldn't hang anything in there. It is dog friendly all over, so mind the dog pooh on the lovely lawns. I mentioned to a member of staff a large deposit right beside the garden path and this was not cleared up, clearly someone had trodden in it before our next visit we had to the garden the next morning.Staff all very friendly. Food very nicely prepared, a few variations or an occasional daily special might be a nice alternative.I would stay here again if in the area, despite the damp and dog pooh.

Rooms were great although I did have a weird hot tap, but it worked so it wasn't a show stopper. Great breakfast and good food all round. Nice and quiet, felt like you were miles from anywhere but it was just a short distance from Alloa, Stirling and the motor ways.

Lovely, comfy, clean quiet room with helpful|staff and good food. The grounds are also lovely and well maintained. I had the vegetarian breakfast which was much more enjoyable than other hotels have stayed! I would recommend to other travellers going to Alloa.
