Just stopped here 2 nights and wanted to say how pleased I was with our choice. Friendly hostess, modern comfortable family room with a powerful electric shower. Choice of breakfast was good and a small bar on site.As mentioned there is scaffold around the building - ongoing repairs after a storm - but inside is clean, tidy and warm!

Booked the Manor House last-minute due to an issue with other accommodation, and it was fantastic! The rooms/beds were very comfortable and the showers ran lovely and hot (not always guaranteed in Scotland, I’m afraid). The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. There’s also a beautiful little dog who is always up for a pat. Wish we were staying longer!

We spent 2 nights here with the goal of getting to John O' Groats. Only mentioning this to alleviate any concerns - there is scaffolding, and there are some water stains. This had zero impact on our stay. …

Like alot of other folk, I was surprised to see scaffolding all around the hotel, but once inside things improved. The yound man who cheked me in was very pleasant and helpful. …

On arriving at the Manor House we were unsure of the correct place as there were scaffolding around the building and no signage.  …

Large , bright room. Good breakfast. Room was very clean and newer bathroom with great shower. Good location. Staff was friendly. Scaffolding on the front of the building so initially we were a bit nervous but pleasantly surprised at the older home. Would go back for sure.

First time staying here & as a regular visitor to Thurso I will stay here again due to the ease of free parking - good quality shower / beds and large bright spacious twin room , always happy to stay in a working family run hotel ,The works on going and far better to support this type of buisness rather than the chained branded ones. , Thank you having us in room 9.Cracking little find

I was assigned a room in a property that had been recently acquired at #3 Janet St rather than the advertised and reviewed #6 Janet St. It made my skin crawl. …

Really friendly family run hotel. We had dinner in the restaurant, which was excellent. The hotel is being renovated on the outside but doesn't detract from the inside. Thoroughly recommend this hotel. There is a lovely walk around the river right outside the hotel.

We booked a double room and was given the smallest room you could fit a double bed in. You could just squeeze down both sides of the bed. It was nothing like the room photos advertising the property. There was no lounge, the bar area is tiny and the restaurant was all set up for dinner so there was nowhere to relax. From what we could see the advertised garden was overgrown. Added to all this was a lukewarm shower, no toilet roll holder and a window blind that didn't work. Not worth the money.
