The rooms were really nicely kept and up to a very high standard. Cooked breakfast was avaliable and was cooked to order. The host Kate was extremely nice and helpful, and cooked the breakfast herself. The house has a very homely feel to it, and there were other rooms available to lounge and relax in other than the rooms. The bust stop was right outside of the guesthouse which was very convenient. Overall we loved it and it made our stay better.

The ensuite was extremely dirty and the place lacked facilities - especially cotton buds, slippers, robes, a soap dish, and a toothbrush holder! Kate is a witch!

The place was nice. Quite quaint and old timey, but that aesthetic gave a homely vibe. There was a nice play room with a pool table, cards, poker chips, a dart board and more. The rooms were a little small and claustrophobic for me and my five other family members staying there, and the lack of ventilation led to it being stuffy. Good service and facilities, the communal kitchen was nice to look at but wasn't all practical. A good place to stay, serves nicely for a B&B and solo or low occupancy staying. The area around was very nice as well.

Like a couple of the other reviewers, I haven't actually stayed at this place but, after watching Four in a Bed, I would not do so....what a nasty, spiteful woman Kate is....

The room was amazingly rich and fancy, with gold wallpaper, gold bedsteads, and even a teapot next to the kettle. Breakfast was very good, with haggis instead of black pudding. There is also a cold buffet with cereals, pastries, and hot & cold drinks. Whilst there is no on site parking, there is a quiet road with plenty of spaces right beside it. The WiFi was just as good as any home WiFi.

I have been a guest in the Abertay Guest House with Cate and Karlos for nearly six months while I have been relocating to the area from Northumberland, I was booked in by my company. In that time I have had a wonderful experience. The Guest house is a beautiful building which is kept to the highest standards with lovely décor. The room in which I stayed had just been newly decorated and was very clean and comfortable, I couldn't have been made more welcome. I would also recommend the breakfast which is amazing, not only do you have a range of fresh fruit, yogurts, cakes and cereals but the cooked breakfast and specials are a real treat. I would highly recommend one of the breakfast omelettes which is a true winner. If you are looking for a place to stay within the local and surrounding area I couldn't recommend the Abertay Guest House enough, defiantly worth a stay you will not regret it. A real home from home.

I am so disgusted to see such nasty twisted reviews by some obviously very nasty people about Catherine and Karl and the Abertay Hotel. Catherine and Karl are two of the nicest, honest and sincere people I have met. Karl is a true gentleman and generous to a fault. Carl is a fantastic armature chief and my wife and I have had the great pleasure of being invited to several dinners made by Carl. The hotel is immaculate and the rooms are first class (I have been shown round them all). I have even known Catherine and Carl to give up their own bedroom to accommodate a traveller in need of occomodation. We look forward in seeing them again in May after a long 9 year holiday in Thailand Koy, Michael, Miren and Shaun.

Wow. Personally would never stay there based in watching Four in a Bed!It’s all filmed so you see the people for what they really are. The lady is utterly vile and and is way above her station! Think the word Bigoted springs to mind!!!!Conceited woman with a massive chip on her shoulder!!!Would give it a zero based on her rudeness in the program but you can’t but if you’re going to go on a TV program where you have the opportunity to show yourself for what you sell and are as a business then a braincell exchange for her is recommended!!!!
