Whilst we’ve visited quite a few times for meals this was our first stay and it was wonderful. Lauren gave us a very friendly welcome and made us feel comfortable straight away.  …

Warm welcome and an enjoyable stay at this beautifully located inn overlooking the beach. We had a lovely room with a view and enjoyed the public bar before having dinner in the restaurant which has a good choice of dishes and is reasonably priced. The full Scottish breakfast was excellent.

Stayed for 1 night in downstairs dog friendly room, Very comfortable bed with a good size bathroom and great shower. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order and was perfect. Also had dinner which my wife and I loved (3 courses) with a good choice on the menu. Good range of beer and wine but you will pay for the location. Nice dining areas including the dog friendly section *also welcome in bar.Plenty of staff so never waited for anyrhing.Friendly and welcoming. Arrive early as parking can be tricky. Would definitely return.

The Ship is one of a kind - location, staff and atmosphere all amazing. Food isn’t the cheapest, but definitely worth the money and our room was extremely comfortable. We’ve been back every year for the last few years and don’t intend to stop anytime soon!

Lovely little pub! Stopped in for a pint and a bite while in Scotland for the Women’s British Open. Clearly a favourite for the locals. Great atmosphere and excellent service and team. No bookings available for the restaurant (full) unfortunately, but the menu looked delicious! Ordered from the Bar BBQ menu instead and enjoyed the lobster and the watermelon/feta salad. Would visit again for sure if ever back in town.

The family and I visited on a Sunday recently and it all felt very promising; great location, good atmosphere, dog-friendly and very welcoming and attentive staff.I want to say that up until we received our main courses everything was great, tasty starters and drinks and we had high hopes. Maybe our mistake was ordering a Sunday roast at a restaurant/location specialising in fish dishes but a Sunday roast is hard to resist in the Bread family. However, what we were served was, and it does pain me to say this as it seems like such a great place, really disappointing. To the point that my wife couldn't eat the meat on the plate, it was cut like a door stop to start with and was so tough she couldn't cut through it. We heard a table nearby return their roast for the same reason. The meat being mostly inedible for all of our party aside the rest of the plate was also a bit of a let down. To charge £25 for a roast and nothing on the plate to be great was really disappointing. We flagged to the waitress about the meat and we were promptly offered a free dessert, we declined the offer and when our bill came were told the service charge would not be included to make up for the quality of the meal. This felt unfair as, well firstly, a service charge is optional anyway but also the waiting staff shouldn't be penalised but importantly, I don't think we should pay for a meal that wasn't eaten. Anyway, at this point we didn't want to make anymore fuss so paid the full bill, over £150, and left. A real shame in what seems an other wise really great wee place but its poor Sunday roast let it down for us.

The location is amazing, sitting outside having drinks was the highlight for meIt was a Sunday afternoon and the weather was fine, so it was busy. The restaurant is casual and the menu was mostly fish. The waitress was inexperienced, spilling my wine, when she poured it.The food was delayed and our fries were cold. They did rectify this quickly. The steak was nice, but some seasonal vegetables would have balanced the meal.Looking around, most of the food looked deep fried, which irritates me as I can do that at home. The door host was lovely and other staff should emulate her natural ability to please the customer

Our room was fantastic ,Clean and spacious. King Bed was a real bonus. My only disappointment was the Manager. He has a cocky attitude he could take some lessons from his staff.
