Great location for our motorcycle tour of Scotland spent two nights here. The rooms are basic but good bathrooms and the location is amazing with the loch a stones throw away. The food is pub grub but well done and reasonably priced . Breakfast is very good.

150m from the main road, with lots of parking. We did not stay at the hotel but popped in for a drink. The barman was not friendly or welcoming. They serve local draft beer by EweBrew which was excellent. The bar has the ambience of a canteen with pool table and dart board in the bar area. Popular with touring bikers. There is additional accommodation across the car park in a new build. The food smelt good.

The food (we had burgers) was absolutely fine and good, even prices and the size of the meal were good. But the mayonnaise had its due date in 2023 (it was July 2024) and the service was not the best, seemed that they didn’t want us to be there - we came spontaneously without reservation). That was a bit sad.

Stopped here for one night on our nc500 journey. |The hotel does seem a bit dated at first but actually, it brings a more traditional feel especially when you're travelling in the rural highlands so don't let that put you off. …

Came here well within opening times of the advertised open restaurant with "good food". We were wet, cold, exhausted and unreasonably hungry. We were denied food as non-residents. The two staff members were noticeably unbothered by ignoring starving, and desperate cyclists their only chance of a meal for the night. We were told we could order as much crisps and nuts as we wanted. We reluctantly bought and paid for a small order of soft drinks and crisps. They were happy to take our money, while handing out menus to one of the only occupied tables next to us.I respect a hotel's policy of prioritizing service for their paying residents. But the place is openly and clearly advertised as a restaurant. In the end, the complete unwillingness to help people in obvious need of a little food and help (we would have eaten stale bread, and settled for a bowl of soup in our state) is just surprising to encounter in such a remote place as the Scottish Highlands.I hope the staff reading this will reconsider their hospitality choices in the future.

Don't visit without booking.7:15 Saturday evening secured a table for two in the bar.Food advertised as served until 8:30 , went to order a bar meal only to be advised hotel guests may come down, so no food available to non residents. This is reflected in other low reviews on here.Beer good, should have tried to order food before I bought it.....

Quiet Wednesday evening, 6ish, and as we passed the frontage we noted that two tables were occupied otherwise empty. Asked about food availability to be told that we had to book. I queried this as the hotel was so quiet but no, we had to book. I felt like asking to book for 6:40 but thought better of it as I really did want to play their game.Went back to our little campervan and cooked lamb steaks outside in the sun, with a bottle of chilled wine.

Lovely location, food basic but cooked to order and good portions . Downside they clearly don’t like tourists if the banter at the bar was anythin* to go by. Bad mouthing most nationalities , English in particular and if you have kids they language completely inappropriate.

We called the restaurant before we went there. The people working there were very kind. I dont agree with the negative reviews, just call them that you want to eat there and they are eager to help you. Food is fine!
