The Ossian is an historic building with some remodeling and updates to keep it livable. Typical historic building smells, cracks and leaks. I stayed in room 2, a full size bed with a bunk bed and desk. The en suite has a shower toilet and sink. Views from this room are great looking into the house grounds and mature conifers. There is a communal coffee/tea station in the hall. I was the only guest so the house was too quiet. Parking out front is ok with space for a few vehicles, careful maneuvering as it sits atop a sharp drop off. During my stay heating was off but this was summer weather and was not needed, it could have been turned on manually if needed. The room fit it's price given peak season and location. Budget accommodation is hard to find in the area. I enjoyed the self check in and check out. I would stay again for a short stopover through the Highlands, not as a destination stay.

I booked last minute and for the price you get what you pay for I guess. Don't expect too much though. There isn't reception or breakfast or dinner available. there is self checkin and self checkout which we liked. We stayed for two nights with 4 kids(room 4, one double and two bunk beds). We all had one room, beds were pretty good. TV ok, but couldn't find the remote so ended watching some DVDs. There is huge dvd collection in the hall for everybody to use. The room was clean but not "hotel level" clean. Bathroom was pretty cold (october) and we, to be honest used it as fridge to a certain degree as we had some milk and yogurts to store. In the cold months you can easily heat up the room with the heater provided, works really well and is very quiet. Overall we enjoyed our stay but next time will use only as a place to sleep, not stay. However, there is a lot of work being done and I believe that over time this place will offer a lot more than a cosy bed.

I’m not happy with the way a problem was handled. I revived a text from the hotel informing me that they had cancelled my booking which I booked months prior. I was lucky I was able to find alternative accommodation as it was a local wedding nearby with some 200 guests staying in the area.I had to call in to find out what happened and was informed the room had been damaged beyond repair so I couldn’t stay there. The staff was polite and friendly, but I had to prompt them to see if they could find any other stays. It’s my belief that they should have found something for me and called me to suggest a solution rather than shrugging shoulders and sending a text.Bad things happen, rooms get destroyed and there’s nothing you can do about it, but the way it was handled was less than professional.

No Electric power on the heaters and when we arrived no one was here to welcome us (self check-in and check-out, noone else was in the house). The room is quite dirty, with a broken glass and holes on the walls. Definitely not worth the price.

This place is not suitable for hosting anyone, specially kids. The hotel is very dirty (the shower, the moquette and the sheets), cold (heaters and hot water work only sometimes) and there is not the possibility to eat without moving with the card.

Had booked this accommodation a good while ago under a 'book now, pay later' agreement for a weekend in late May. Generally the understanding here is that payment is taken close to or on that date. The accommodation provider used my credit card details to take money from my account in early March; a significant time period before the stay was due, but crucially when the Covid-19 pandemic had reached the UK.My repeated requests for a refund based on the fact that the provider is unable to fulfil the service were repeatedly ignored for weeks. When I eventually managed to enter dialogue with them I was told I would not be getting a refund, instead all I could be offered was a voucher for a future date. This is in breach of consumer rights law. When I insisted I was due a refund I was sent to the 3rd party booking website for them to deal with it. A shocking shirk of responsibility.I understand businesses will be struggling during this time but nonetheless it is morally wrong to try and withhold money that does not belong to you. Shame on you.

We booked at the last minute, Tony was very helpful, as in greeted us, was happy for our young collie to stay, even though had tried to call and ask, Room was warm and clean, wifi password did not work, but we were there to sleep and 14 yr old who was tired anyway, recovered from that trauma and fell asleep very quickly just after 9.30, the best was that he let our MTB boy store the overly expensive Bike inside a locked room, which was a relief when we went out for dinner.Tea & Coffee available for the morning for stressed parents of racing boy.We were satisfied and would definitely return. Well done Tony and thankyou.

We stayed there for one night. Friendly owner who let is in, but the place needs A LOT of work. Old and damp, the bathroom was full of mould and the beds very squeaky and uncomfortable. Wifi was not working. No kitchen or reception.

Worst hotel ever, doesn't deserve any of the 3 stars it has. The room was awful and missed a lot of things, no reception or any facilities. We had the impression the hotel is abandoned...

Dated building but everything was mentioned before hand. Extremely nice hosts and quiet rural area full of nice sights.
