The hotel is a stunning old building inside and out. Yes it is old and tired but that adds to its charm. It is accessed by a very narrow, stony road so be careful driving up and mind the peacocks! …

This hotel is historical and beautiful with stunning views. Yes, it is dated, but it has character, and I loved it! I can't comment on the service as the room was accessed by a locked keybox, and we didn't meet a member of staff during our two-night stay. Our room was huge and very clean. It had a very comfortable four-poster bed and had two comfy sofas to sit on and enjoy the view with a good book. There is no TV but with a view like that you don't need one.Bottled water is provided as the water is full of peat and unsafe to drink, but OK to use for bathing and toilet and toiletries are provided. There is a bath with an overhead shower and plenty of hot water.I would have awarded 4.5 stars, but there was no kettle in the room to make hot drinks, which is a shame, but pastries and juice were provided on the first night of our stay .Overall we slept well here and enjoyed our stay but lack of kettle let it down.P.S Look out for peacocks as one came to our window!

What a place. We pulled up the very long driveway to The Falls rooms & were surprised by the grand old facade. I'm leaving a 3 star neutral review because it's one of those places that you either love or loathe, bit I'm right down the centre. There were zero staff members to be seen, anywhere. The bedroom was magnificent. The water ran with peat mixed in. The view was beautiful. No kettle or TV in the bedroom. The building is old & grand. There were TWO freshly cut stag's heads in the car park just left in carrier bags by the wall. The peace and quiet was unreal. I would probably return as a treat, it's a very unique place with an acquired charm of its own.

Really lovely place. Has a really homely feel compared to alot of hotels. FYI there is a kitchen area where tea and coffee etc plus cooking facilities are provided. The owner was really friendly and kindly explained some of the history of the building. Lovely grounds to walk around. Well worth a visit!

Excellent place to stay for a quiet break.I haven't had a better sleep, no sound except the ducks, which I didn't mind. The only thing letting the room down was that the curtains would better with blackout.Staff were so helpful great place to visit.

Beautiful views but overall disappointing rooms. Generally a bit shabby. Bathrooms especially were not clean, with no hot water for showering. One room we booked strongly smelled of something dead. The bed was clean but could feel springs in the mattress. Can't really comment on service as all self service.

Just arrived, could cry, 100+ quid a night and its awful. Expected the basics at least - kettle, cups, tv - the same as everywhere else.. but no. Nothing. And it smells.. foist with a hint of urine.. No local information, nothing.Run down building.Only saving grace is the location.Lift not working, booking directions (no stairs and close to exit, due to disabilities) - ignored.. put in't furthest room away.. more painkillers needed..Would I recommend this place.. no.

No tv, no radio. Couldn't get wifi. Had kitchenette. Nice soft towels. Place does not look like pictures. Renovations happening. Broken window etc... honestly, I felt creeped out for some reason, almost panicked brought me to tears.

A truly wonderful old building, OK, a bit past its best but huge character, very grand rooms with faded furnishings but a wonderful experience, water quality a bit iffy and won’t suit those who demand creature comforts but perfectly suited to 3 old blokes on bikes doing the NC 500, kitchens for common use with tea and coffee provided.
