In September we visited this Inn on a tour of the west coast of Scotland, and I'm afraid it was our least favourite place. We did not receive a good welcome at all. There was no one there when we entered, and when the staff member arrived, he emmediately started talking gruffly on his cell. When he got off the phone he just said "NAME!", not hello, good afternoon, can I help you, sorry about that or any number of other pleasant things he could have said. He did not give us the warm welcome we had received so many times in Scotland. When we got to our room, it was cramped with no place to put any suitcases. It was also not as clean as we would like. On our way out for supper we asked if we could possibly get a luggage holder/rack. Our "friend " said there's one in the room! We explained that we had looked everywhere and didn't see one. He continued to insist there was one. We said well perhaps we could get a second one. he continued to argue, but did eventually provide one for us.We found a wonderful restaurant not too far away where we ate before returning to our room.On the good side we had a lovely breakfast in the a.m. with delightful service and didn't see our "friend "again before we left.We are sure there are better rooms in this hotel, and we know there are some pleasant staff members, so I hope that we just caught this gentleman on a bad day!

Possibly the worst hotel stay I’ve endured anywhere (I’ll qualify that - we checked out early and went home it was so bad), and such a poor example of Scottish hospitality for visitors to the country. …

Don’t agree to the negative reviews concerning their service. Got greeted at the entrance a minute after entering and service was quick and efficient. Food was delicious too. Definitely a great value for money. They also serve quite big portions.

Rude and frankly downright hostile hotel manager, who may also double up on the bar. I haven't experienced such awful customer service before and this started at check-in. …

Don’t let looks deceive you!The inn is located in a quite town with awesome views over the mountains. The room we had was super clean and really cozy. We had dinner in the restaurant, everything here looks a bit old so had our doubts, but the food was really amazing! We ordered the rib-eye steak (super tender) and the beef-ale casserole which was one of the best we ever had!Compliments to the crew, really nice place!

Fantastic service we sat outside the most amazing view over the mountains. We had drinks, nachos & the burger & cheese which came with onion rings & chips it was amazing the burger was huge so succulent & tasty the onion rings were delicious the food was so so tasty. The staff were lovely & friendly we were staying at a local campsite & went here for food as our campsite had recommended it & it did not disappoint well worth a visit!

Strongly do not recommend. Came here not expecting much as it looked like the best of what's around, but after waiting over 20 mins just to receive a menu and about an hour for food, we wished we'd cooked for ourselves. Two stars only because the food was perfectly edible and sizable portions and there's free wifi. The table next to us was a large family with young kids who ordered just after we walked in and received their orders after us, so waited over an hour. When they finally brought out the meals there was an extra unaccounted for and the waitress, instead of accepting the error, argued and insisted they'd ordered another meal with no one to eat it - after they'd already waited over an hour for the food. The service all around was just terrible, the atmosphere is lousy and food is SO overpriced for what you get. We've had restaurant quality meals and service for this price elsewhere.

We stayed at the Stronlossit in June, 2024 and were significantly disappointed by the hotel. The place is significantly more run down than you would expect given the pictures on the website. …
