This b&b is a rare find - Gunta is an expert host who goes out of her way to make one’s stay faultless. The rooms are crisp and clean. The sitting room is a comfortable and homely. And then there’s the food - fantastic - the lamb shanks an absolute highlight. Breakfast was also delish (note that breakfast and dinner are additional costs to the room tariff). As cyclists we found this a real haven. It is excellent value for money and well worthy of its 5 star rating.

I don't take the time to write reviews that often but it is rare to find such a genuine experience in a B&B as we did here. Everything is squeaky clean, the surroundings are beautiful, rooms are roomy and soap, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer, TV with netflix, tea, coffee, cookies etc. is provided. And then, the hostess. She is so friendly, kind and for the love of god - eat both dinner and breakfast here since the woman is a fantastic cook!I don't really know what to say other than that we tried to find genuine, cozy B&B during our trip in a reasonable prize range and this topped our expectations big time! I absolutely recommend this place!

Gunta takes care of the guest house down to the smallest details. We arrived late in the evening and really needed to do laundry... Well, the next morning our clothes were clean and placed outside the room door🥹 ❤️ and a delicious, freshly prepared breakfast awaited us. The atmosphere is very comfortable and cozy, you will immediately feel at home. Super recommended! I have wonderful memories of that stay.Thank you, Gunta 🌹 greetings from Italy!

Gunta runs a really tight ship and this is a great guest house. It is not enough suite but never had any issues with shared bad. It was shared with only one other room. The evening meals were excellent as was the breakfast. Everything is al a carte and a really good value. Gunta likes to get to know her guess and makes him feel very welcome.

Beechwood Lodge is a peaceful spot near Inverness, perfect for a relaxing break with friends. We felt at home in its cozy atmosphere and enjoyed tasty breakfasts each morning. It's in a great location, close enough to the city for convenience but far away enough for peace and quiet, surrounded by beautiful nature. The best part of our stay was the friendly host, who gave us great tips for exploring the area. Thanks to their advice, we discovered Dunrobin Castle, a stunning highlight of our trip. Overall, Beechwood Lodge was a wonderful place to stay, with comfy rooms, yummy breakfasts, and a host who made us feel welcome and helped us make the most of our time in Scotland.

We had booked this stay through buymeagift vouchers. The host made clear that she didn't think the vouchers were worth it and she was not to use them again, She was kind enough to offer the stay during her 'peak' season , with us agreeing to stay end of Jun, mid week. I did check and the prices weren't too different, with her offering her own deals at this time. Before we arrived there was already issues, we paid an extra £165 on top of the two vouchers purchased (total now £363) this was to have ensuite rooms and I think breakfast, prices were not clear.Around a month after paying all these bits another £193 came out my account , without any fore warning!! I tried to contact and was told ' we are only human' and it would be 'dealt with when she returned to the property'.No real apology or recognition it was totally illegal❗The money was refunded however and as my brother had specially been keen for Alness, I decided to go ahead with the booking. I wish now I hadn't.On arrival we were greeted by the host coming out the door and stating ' it all happens at once' then advising she wanted us to move cars . She then moved her car to allow us to do so ( unsure why this wasn't already done as she expected us to arrive). This was all before saying Hello or welcoming us. I would add, we had come from Dundee and had a 2 year old, we had also read reviews, so expected a warm welcome! As soon as in the property it was clear that the space was clean and warm. The beds were large and looked comfy, although storage in the room minimal, only 5 hangers in open wardrobe. The surrounding area was peaceful and beautiful. Great location for the walks etc we planned.Reading about lots of lovely toiletries surprised me, as there was 2x large open tresemme shampoo and conditioner available. We were asked about what we wanted for breakfast and at what time , 2x in the space of 1 hour of checking in.The host then met us in common area and asked if we had plans - having read reviews about their hospitality I asked ' No, do you have recommendations?' The host then stated, ' yes we have spent a lot of time on our website , look there'She then asked if we had booked somewhere in Inverness for food ( we said we were going there) again, I asked ' no, have you recommendation?' host stated they 'wouldn't know about Inverness, but to be warned places close early, not like in the south & (after checking lots of places were open past 9pm).My brother, his wife and their 2 year old had come away on this trip for birthdays, with my brother being a Doctor, finding times to fit this in super tough, so we really hoped for a lovely chilled weekend together. The host had already mentioned the 2 year old being 'special'. She added this again, highlighting this was a quiet space, to keep things quiet that's why people come...all while one of her guests had a barking dog upstairs! It made all of us feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome, worried the 2 year old might cry and cause an issue, we had hoped to enjoy a board game or so in the common room but this also seemed like it would be ' too rowdy'.We left to go for dinner, but before we reached Inverness, decided for all of our enjoyment not to stay the 2 nights, we returned keys and asked to get refunded the extra money paid, which was done quickly. Although, again there was issues with this, with 'finance manager' telling me money had been refunded, when I asked to which account, she shared on 3 separate occasions details for an account that wasn't mine!!! Eventually she realized she had been sharing THEIR account details with me. Not before a significant amount of stress caused and statements like ' this is the account information YOU provided'. Really frightening how litte responsibility taken by hosts. We booked an amazing serviced apartment , which cost less in total , offered whole space to ourselves and with really high quality extras in nearby Kingussie. Despite having travelled and having young toot, this was still much preferred to staying a night at Beechwood.Red flags from the start❗

I like everything here: the calm surroundings, the rooms, the tasty breakfast, and the music of the small river behind the window. We are traveling around Scotland this early spring and staying here with my friends, occupying almost the entire house. The guest house is in a very good location to explore places around like Inverness and walking routes along the river. You can ask for ideas, and the owners are happy to help with them. It's the perfect place to feel the real spirit of Scotland!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Beechwood Lodge with a group of friends, and I must say it was a truly delightful experience. The peaceful surroundings of the lodge provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The hospitality we received from the hosts was exceptional - they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.During our week-long stay, we had the opportunity to explore the surrounding areas including Inverness, Dunrobin Castle, and take walks in the beautiful wilderness. The hosts were incredibly knowledgeable about the area and provided us with valuable advice on what to do and see during our visit.Overall, our stay at Beechwood Lodge was nothing short of fantastic. I highly recommend this charming lodge to anyone looking for a tranquil retreat in Scotland with excellent hospitality and friendly hosts.
