Our room was huge and clean, the bathroom was very weird and I almost killed myself twice tripping over a step on my way to the sink. The best part of the hotel was the staff, the owner is very friendly and the banter in the morning during breakfast very welcomed. I was not a big fan of the bar in the evenings where the locals seem to gather and us foreigners are inspected and looked at, I had the same experience eight years ago when we stayed here. The location is great, parking non-existent, you have to park on the parking lot of the nearby supermarket, but the room was good and the beds quite comfortable.

Unfortunately, the room was very tired and in need of a deep clean (as can be seen in the pictures). It is not clearly stated on the website that this is a dog friendly hotel, and therefore, you should expect dog hair in the rooms. The pub downstairs, on the other hand, was spotless and had a good atmosphere. Breakfast was also good, it's just a shame that the rooms were a let down.

Booked in for two nights. I found all my stuff missing when I returned to my room on the second day. No phone call, no explanation, no apology. I felt violated. …

Very nice place to stay in Brora. Only gripe I had was the noisy water pumps in the bathrooms, but the stay, service, and experience was faultless other than that. A great base for exploring a wonderful area, and we will likely be back in the future, and just as likely to stay here again.

We had booked in for dinner knowing we'd be visiting Dunrobin Castle that day and didn't want to go far for dinner. The place is a typical older Inn with basic decor. We were very pleasantly surprised however with the food. …

Sadly, this visit didn't go very well. My room had been double booked and my luggage was removed without my consent and just left in a hallway. No apology or explanation from the staff, just that it was a "misunderstanding"! Next they tracked me down to get the keys back! Eventually I was given another room but none of the staff seemed to care. Not the great service that I had last time!

Overall good value for money. The staff was friendly and helpful (at least in the evening when we arrived - the morning staff seemed a little grumpy and short). The rooms were okay while being a little outdated. Our toilet flush didn't work properly and overall the shower facilities didn't make the best impression. The rooms were quite and we had a good nights sleep. The breakfast provided was decent too.
