Wonderful old hotel. Location is great - very quiet yet walking distance to town, walking trails, and golf. The view of the Royal Dornoch course and the sea was fantastic. We did not eat in the restaurant, but bar menu was quite good. …

Absolutely stunning hotel with wonderful views. The staff are so welcoming and all have a smile on their faces. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are beautifully decorated with very opulent furnishings.  …

If not for the location to the golf course we would probably not choose this hotel . The room was small and not particularly clean ( dusty). Wine glasses were not clean . Room was extremely hot with no way to regulate temperature. …

This hotel was perfectly located for the golf course and the local town. Everything was great, staff were brilliant, comfy bed, great shower and my dog was well catered for with a bed and bowls in our bedroom. …

This place is beautiful. Very close to restaurants and shopping. The golf course is right there. A great breakfast was offered. Our room was plenty big and the staff was very friendly during our stay. They have a lovely front porch you can sit on and a great lobby area.

Fabulous. The building, the location, the food and the service. Wonderful lunch and can't wait to go back for dinner. We didn't stay there so I can't comment on the bedrooms. But the public rooms are amazing matched by the food. The best hotel I've eaten in the whole of the Highlands.

Nice hotel, but for the price, the service was quite lacking. Although there was staff about, they didn't pay attention to the guests standing right in front of them.  …

My husband and I chose to stay here for the first part of our Honeymoon in the Scottish Highlands. The renovations recently completed by Marine & Lawn who bought the property in 2022 are exceptional. The lobby, bar and dinning room all very elegant. The rooms we had were elegant and well appointed. Our complimentary breakfast was delicious and well presented.• A couple of issues that will hopefully be ironed out soon. The wall in room we stayed in the first night, 313 is paper thin allowing us to hear the TV and conversation of the guests next door to us. The staff was kind and moved us to a new room the next day without us even needing to ask. Our King Suite was very quiet and cozy.• The hotel is understaffed, resulting in the current staff working overtime to keep it running. The staff was incredible in-spite of the long hours. To the President of Marine & Lawn Phillip Allen, and the investment firm AJ Capital owners of Dornoch Station-In the construction of expanding the rooms as you mention on your site, during the major renovation, some of the walls were made poorly and too thin. We could hear the guests next door eating their crisps! We could also see the light from their room coming through a crack across the ceiling joining the two rooms. To protect your expensive investment, please send a contractor to resolve this mistake or cut corners in construction so it doesn’t result in negative reviews. It seems you are truly trying to do something wonderful here and a few important steps were missed.Additionally: A nice PR campaign locally may assist in building Dornoch Stations réputation that was meager before your beautiful renovations.
