Loved is hostel, staff were very friendly and welcoming. The facilities are great, only disappointing part of my stay was dry room 2 clearly wasn't turned on, so damp clothes the next day. The heating in the rooms would have probably dried the clothes, can't complain being cold in my room... that's for sure

After four days of walking the West Highland Way, staying at Blackwater Hostel was an absolute dream! The showers were nothing short of amazing — just what I needed to refresh and recharge after the long trek. The facilities were spotless, especially the kitchen, which was incredibly clean and tidy. The staff were also brilliant — so friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help.Overall, Blackwater Hostel was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Highly recommend to anyone tackling the West Highland Way or just passing through!

Fantastic little camping hut. Requested bedding (additional cost) prior to arrival and was already placed inside the hut. Little heater, microwave and kettle meant I had everything I needed for the evening. Shared toilets and shower were all clean and easily accessible.

I was welcomed at the site by pleasant staff. The pitch areas are well maintained and flat. The toilet and shower facilities were clean. I’d recommend this site to anyone passing through on the West Highland Way. The sound of the near by large waterfall was pleasant to fall asleep to.

Camped here while walking the West highland way. Not expensive and nice facilities, the shower was particularly lovely. Good WiFi. There was a drying room, one had a broken roof so was not working the other was therefore crammed to the brim with wet clothes and shoes. Staff only turn it on from 8pm, nothing really dried, if the room is that full it would make sense to turn the heat on for a bit longer. If not for this would give it 5 stars.

Easy to find leaving West Highland Way. Nice and compact facility but is overused. The drying facility was small and jam packed and didn't dry well. The pod itself is very small and basic. There's free WiFi and service is good with check-in. Shower and toilet block is a bit small. The outside covered sink area was useful. At least it's quiet and fairly close to all services and facilities like getting a decent dinner after hard days walk.

This is a review of the campsite, rather than the hostel. There was a good selection of tent pitches which were all clean and flat. The WiFi was excellent, I hadn't expected it to reach from the main building to my tent but it did.  …
