Super cozy pub with friendly staff (special nods to Hannah and Maddie), good food and a lovely Sunday Roast at a very reasonable price (a mere £4 more than I paid for good, but not great, haddock and chips in Guildford the night before). Friendly vibe, board games, dog-friendly inside and out…all of which made my wife and I happy to call the Horse our local while we stayed up the road for a couple of weeks. We might even drive back just for the Sunday Roast!

Had a roast here for a birthday. One of the kids ordered food and a fly came baked into it. Had to get this replaced. Others had the roast and they went for quantity not quality. Everything was undercooked including the beef which was beyond pink it was purple. At the end they tried to make us pay full price. After saying again they offered to take the Mac and cheese off but that was it and the guy smiled and said sorry about this. We then had to get another member of staff who eventually gave 20% off the roasts. The male staff member was very rude and threatened to call the police although we were not dinning and dashing we simply did not want to pay £21 a roast that was awful and a baked fly. All in all. Just don’t bother

Very poor quality food at premium prices. They attempt to disguise the lack of quality by piling the plates up. We had one of each roast and all were very poor, uncooked (not just undercooked) meat and hard vegetables. Lacking in flavour. One of the children had mac and cheese, which was provided with a cooked-in fly. Staff handled the situation poorly when challenged. There’s plenty of good options locally, this isn’t one of them.

Room 3 as others have said is noisy (and colleagues in other rooms also said the same) due to be above the main bar and at the front of the building so gets all of the road noise. There is no discernible noise insulation. …

Stayed here over the wknd. It is a lovely pub rooms were very nice and food was delicious. I thought the staff we seen were all very friendly and especially the lady who served us on Friday evening with blonde curly hair she was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Compliments to the chefs also for all the food we were served everything was lovely.Parking is limited but between the 4 of us and we came in 2 cars we found a quiet road to park on very near and cars were fine.

Went to the Horse Inn for a Sunday roast with friends. One of the roasts came out as the wrong order and then when it was changed it was missing items that were listed on the menu. One meal was the roast beef, it was basically a slab of fat which was horrible. We had asked if we could change some of the items and the lady acted as though we had kicked her dog. When I had said they had give me the wrong meal the lady huffed and rolled her eyes. Such a shame because we ate here on a Saturday night a few weeks prior and the staff were friendly and the food was pretty good. Shame the Roast Dinner was shoddy, over priced and staff with serious attitude problems. We wouldn't return now, which is a shame as it's our local.

Fantastic food, literally everything in the menu was brilliant. We went as a group of 4 and all had different meals and everything looked fantastic and tasted brilliant. Hannah was very attentive and Tim the owner recommended ribs which did not disappoint, throughly recommend! If I had to be super critical I would say the gents toilets a little entertaining to find , ended up in a cupboard big overall experience was fantastic .

Very nice country style, and nicely decorated pub. Booked for lunch at 2pm. The pub was quite cold when we arrived but it did heat up. 2 open fires which was nice. Had the roast pork and the beef which were delicious. Lovely big portions! My roast potatoes were not all that crispy which was a shame but the gravy served in a separate jug was some of the best I’ve had! Would definitively return.
