Thank you to Ruth and all the staff at The Cricketers. My family hired the lovely function room, to have my mum's Memorial get together today. My family and I had a lovely afternoon, even though the weather could of been better. Your garden was so peaceful, and we all went out and looked at your chicken/hen coup. The food and service was great. The whole experience was just perfect. We are grateful.Kind regards,The Shine family. ❤❤❤

After a lovely walk in the countryside the 4 of us decided to have some refreshments here. What a beautiful garden this pub has. We shared two pizzas between the four of us which were obviously hand made, excellent oh and the Eton Mess was to die for. The staff are quite young but also very professional. Can't fault this place. Will definitely be returning in the future.

Superbly placed pub for exploring the South Downs National Park. Lovely ambience and atmosphere. Great food and drinks options. Expansive woodland garden at the rear with many individual tables/seating to choose from. There is plenty of off-road parking at the front. Accommodation is super clean and so relaxing. Private entrance, en suite. Very comfortable beds. Super quiet at night. Small fridge in room with fresh milk, water, fruit (oranges/apples). Also, cereals, bowls, cutlery. A lovely selection of teas, coffee sachets, etc, too. Even a fan, for a hot evening. Host Ruth is lovely, as are all the bar staff. Service is impeccable, too!And the breakfasts... well, they are really lovely 😍 👌 Perfect, in fact. Fresh coffee in a cafetiere, fresh juice too. Thank you, Ruth 👍Excellent value for not just the accommodation with breakfast, but for the food and drink too.A testament to a thriving pub is that we stayed midweek, and it gets busy in the evenings, but in a good way. Pleasant atmosphere, nice people, relaxing and not so busy that you can't get good, attentive service. All in all, it is a great place to relax, unwind, and be brilliantly placed for exploring Petworth (and Petworth House) [10 minutes by car], or Arundel [20 minutes by car], or further afield into West Sussex and beyond.I can only highly recommend this destination. It is how a pub/accommodation provider should be run.

Absolute gem of an inn, with interesting sporting history - if you like cricket, anyway! The pub is very welcoming - every member of staff is friendly, courteous and helpful and the approach is to make a stay or visit relaxed and pleasant for guests. The location is ideal for access to much of West Sussex and is itself set in rolling hills. Beer on tap is good, properly priced too; evening food is the right menu for a pub and the main ingredients are locally sourced, including trout from the very nearby fishery. The sirloin steaks are high quality and cooked to perfection. Breakfast options include full English and it’s also really good food. Accommodation is slightly quirky with two rooms in a recently converted brew house - the standard is very high for an inn. Parking plentiful, access easy, plenty of tables with a nice garden to the back of the building. A great stay, nothing to dislike at all.
