Our daughter married there over the weekend and it was amazing. Beautiful place and exceptional staff and everything ran like clockwork. If you are looking for a venue then loom no further.

Such a disappointment with service at the hotel! I paid £612 to stay here for 2 nights. Gorgeous garden, beautiful rooms. However, the service was sub par. When I checked in, I asked about dinner. I was advised to go to a nearby pub as the restaurant onsite was fully booked. I walked to the Crabtree pub and it had a private event and was closed to public. I walked back to the hotel and asked if I could buy ANYTHING to eat from their restaurant as all other nearby restaurants are closed and I can’t get food anywhere. It’s late, I’m tired and jet-lagged and just need some food please. I was advised to drive some place else by the manager. I told her I didn’t have a car and was very hungry and would really appreciate if I could buy at least some bread to have with tea. She checked with the chef in the kitchen and told me that there is “absolutely nothing” they can offer me to eat, that they “threw away” left over bread about an hour ago and have nothing in the kitchen! (Michelin star restaurant!) Meanwhile, they were many people dining in the restaurant. The manager told me they only buy enough food for reservations and have nothing else to offer for anyone else. It’s fascinating, as I have a breakfast reservation for tomorrow morning with them. Does it mean they will bring all food for it tomorrow morning??My only option at this point was to try to find a taxi (Uber 20+ min wait time!) to take me several miles away to a nearby town that still served some food at 9:30pm or go to bed hungry. How sad. This really ruined my experience here. I booked 2 nights to spend here, I paid good amount of money for it but I will be leaving early tomorrow, after just 1 night here despite the fact that I paid for 2 nights. This place didn’t make feel welcomed, and it’s so unfortunate as I really loved the gardens, the sculptures and all natural beauty here. But the fact that they couldn’t find a piece of bread for their hungry guest who is willing to pay for it is shocking to me.
