Awful. Not improved since the previous reviews. Couldn't care less attitude and awful food. Toasted bagels were cold. Jacket potatoes uncooked. Coca-Cola developed a mysterious scum when poured into glass. Had the impression they would have preferred us to not be there.

I had to give one star as there was not a lower rating available. We ordered drinks that were brought one a a time so we decided not to order food. While paying the bar bill I mentioned that they had missed out on a food order of over £100 due to their exceptionally poor service. They even forgot how many drinks needed to be paid for.

Room was filthy: dirty mattresses - dirty carpet (found peanuts, coins, a lighter on the floor) - no soap in the bathroom (an old dispenser was located next to the toilet brush but empty!) - visible black mold in the shower cabin…all in all, horrible. It’s not a hotel but a pub with a few rooms located upstairs. Expect noise in the evening. (We were not bothered by it as it was a relatively quiet Thursday evening, but I imagine weekends are worse.) When we wanted to check out at app. 8.15 am, the place was empty and there was no staff at all. It felt weird not knowing when the staff had left during the night and for how long we had been alone on the premises. (Is that even legal? What if something had happened during the night?)No breakfast available (we knew this in advance) but also only dinner available friday and saturday, i.e. find a proper hotel to stay in.

Popped in for a couple of drinks after having lunch at Granny’s Kitchen across the road. Sat in the courtyard as it was a sunny day! The bar itself was a real surprise, nicely done out and a little bit ‘alternative’ with a good jukebox available and good range of drinks. Friendly barmaid. Toilets a bit dicey though, broken hand dryer exposing the internal didn’t seem particularly safe!

Had a great stay and dinner. Staff were so friendly. Food was delicious and the portions are huge! Rooms are nice, Clean and tidy. Tea/coffee was very well stocked! I had my 3 year old child with me and there was a little noise from the courtyard but nothing more than I would expect for a Saturday night in a pub! She still managed to get to sleep easy! Would definitely come back.

A very welcoming pub with rooms. Very good value. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided in the room with a kettle. We had a smallish room at the back of the hotel, with a good shower. The pub offers some meals.  …

Very nice staff who were accommodating but the rooms were not very clean at all. Simply just somewhere to sleep not a place I would go back to

Never been there but the picture of a dog on the bed has persuaded me never to book it.
