We stayed here for our anniversary. The hotel is stunning with all old victorian style inside. The spa and pool was lovely. Cannot fault the staff. …

This hotel has a lot of potential but was disappointing. Fabulous setting with Lamphey Palace just outside and this is well worth a visit. …

Excellent service, especially the reception ladies who went the extra mile to ensure a happy stay. They were welcoming, warm, friendly, helpful and professional. We felt relaxed and at home as soon as we arrived. Beautiful historic building in a pretty setting. Our room was charming spacious and exceptionally clean. The two ladies in the spa again were professional, smiley and welcoming, we thoroughly enjoyed our facials, thank you. The whole atmosphere is one of calm, ease and relaxation, exactly what we wanted. We highly recommend this hotel.

Previously reviewed this hotel in January 2019.... at the time I likened it to Marmite; either love it or hate it and we loved it. We are more the other way now.  …

We booked a self catering apartment which was pictured in the brochure. When we arrived it did not resemble the picture. There was a small bedroom with a small double bed, a lounge area with two worn out armchairs. …

I wouldn’t say this is a 4 star hotel. It wasn’t a bad stay but could have been some improvements.Positives:Nice views from the hotel and easy parking. The room was old fashioned but spacious. Soft bed but comfy. Staff were really friendly throughout the hotel.Negatives:Everything was outdated. The tv wasn’t working and they wouldn’t do anything about it. The bathroom taps were the old school hot and cold ones so on one hand I was scalded and then it was freezing. My room had two buzzing flies in it that took us ages to get them out. The slamming doors from other rooms were so loud and disturbing. The spa was the worst spa I’ve ever been to. Absolutely filthy everywhere, I feel a bit sick thinking about it. Changing rooms were so dirty and most things weren’t working. The swimsuit dryer was busted and the hairdryer was the most pathetic ‘heat’ I’ve ever experienced. The towels were so small too and the water was so cold. Even in the jacuzzi it wasn’t that hot.

I’m disabled with spinal cord injury and have issues walking . It’s an old building so built over several levels with plenty of small staircases but they have handrails so they are accessible. My only issue was with the front steps to enter the main entrance which are steep and do not have a rail . There is another side entrance that can be used which is further round but works. It is not wheelchair friendly . The staff were all exceptional ,approachable and friendly and helped me with any issues I had . The room I was in was comfortable and clean . The food was of a very good standard . Lovely quiet atmosphere. It was a top stay and would highly recommend for someone wanting a relaxing base for a break .

Very poor breakfast experience. Shaby dining room/conservatory. Standard of room Cleaning etc poor. Better to eat ala cart rather than pre pay. Dining room unavailable for evening meal. Forced to use cold conservatory with no atmosphere
