Enjoyed our stay here at the weekend. |Old hotel and a little dated inside so don't expect premier inn!! But clean warm and cosy with a fantastic welcome. …

Stayed here as I was on a walking holiday in the area. Excellent staff and food especially the cakes. The owners and staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to ensure that my stay was extremely pleasant. Real Ale brewed on site which was excellent, ate in the restaurant and especially enjoyed the breakfast. I gave 3 stars for the rooms because the hotel would to some seem dated but I think it added to the character, especially enjoyed a hot bath after a days walking. Will definitely go back for a visit to a lovely town, people and local area.

Dropped in on a wet Sunday afternoon and was taken aback at the friendly welcome. We had tea and cakes. The cakes baked by Svetlana were amazing we had her chocolate, and her bounty cake, absolutely fantastic. A great place as a base for walking.

The staff were friendly, welcoming & very helpful. The barman was knowledgeable about the drinks on offer & the waiter was patient during the decision of making choices. The food was delicious - especially the hot pot & the puddings. We cleared all our plates. If you get the chance do pop in. You’ll not be disappointed.

We stayed at the B n B down the road and ate here both times during our stay for an evening meal. The food was lovely and the service was great even though they were busy. |We loved the ambiance of the place, old and quirky with good choices of food and drinks on offer at reasonable prices

On the positive side the staff were friendly, the old bar quaint and the food pretty reasonable.||The place though has seriously been run into the ground with a total lack of maintenance. …

Fantastic pub with a really old school feel reminiscent of the type of pubs we don’t see anymore due to the chains taking over. Barman/owner gave some samples to help me choose a cider, which was fantastic. The chap and the lady were extremely friendly making us feel welcome and at home. Couldn’t recommend them enough, da iawn.
