We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Cardiff and Travelodge Queen Street was not only a perfect location but the service from everyone was first class. From the regular welcome at reception and the checking of our needs to the way we were treated in the bar/cafe staff could not have done more. Rooms were not the biggest but very clean and well appointed and perfectly adequate for a short stay of say 2/3 nights. 3 minute walk to the castle and museum, in the heart of a vibrant city centre with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants within 5/10 minute walk.

Great location, close to the Castle and 15 mins walk from the train station, and all of the staff I encountered were helpful and friendly.|My double room was clean but basic - even for a budget hotel. …

Fair hotel. Lovely team. Kyle very helpful. No parking at hotel. Entrance is a little walk so parked car at barrier on Friars Rd to unload then parked car at leonardo's hotel. Pizza was exceptional and kitchen open all night. Excellent location for shops etc. Practically opposite Cardiff Cardiff Castle.

Weekend stay for the half marathon. Whilst the service and cleanliness of the hotel can't be faulted which includes a nice breakfast, the location was not good at all for customers needing a quiet night's sleep ahead of a big running event. The Live Lounge opposite was extremely loud up to the early hours of the following day and caused us all a great deal of stress and anxiety. If we were to return, we would not stay at this particular hotel again.

Don’t have anything against travel lodges in general as we use them quite a lot but will never use this one again. Refused to hold our bags for us when we got there early . We had to pay for early check in for our room that was already ready for us so that we didn’t have to lug our bags around with us.never had this at any other hotel in my life no matter the size. I get it if it’s not ready and they have to get someone to do it there and then but this was ready for us but let’s just try and rip people off.She said because of Covid!! Are you having a laugh. How can you charge money when you already have the room ready!! Then at night there was noise all night!! I also accidentally booked a twin room, totally my fault so can’t argue however the receptionist refused to swap our room for a double. Also our floor stunk of weed 👍

My real problem was at check-in! Let me say this clearly to all Travelodge employees who may read this review, when two men are booked into a room where they'll be sharing a double bed, I do NOT expect that to be repeatedly questioned and a twin room offered instead on multiple occasions!! There's this little thing you might have heard of called homosexuality. The staff clearly made an instant judgement, possibly assuming I'm not gay, but no assumptions should ever be made one way or another. Without causing a scene, I did my best to politely request that they stop asking and leave us to enjoy the room as booked. It was embarrassing for me to have to keep saying, over and over, that we wanted the double bed, especially as there were others in the check in area. The rooms were fine. Nothing more, nothing less. Location is convenient although do be aware of a very loud, very bright nightclub literally outside your window which goes on until dawn!! The biggest letdown was reception.

Stayed here on recent Bank Holiday. Everything is good for an affordable price. Nice staff, clean rooms, very good location in city centre 5 minutes walk from Castle. And you can take breakfasts just for 10 Pounds per person. Strongly recommend.

Easy booking at last minute, great night sleep and lovely staff. The location is great for night live, is close to a couple of night clubs so some sound was expected but not too much.

Worse night's sleep in a long time. Room stuffy no air-conditioning but fans didn't really help. Nobody came on 2nd day to replenish toilet roll. No show gel in the dispenser. Noisy Toilet dripped all night, noise from night club next door all night, And couldn't shut window because stuffy.Food overpriced and mediocre. Wouldn't stay at that one again

It is currently 2.51am and we have not yet been able to sleep. The room is lovely and clean, the bed is comfortable, pillows a bit hard but manageable. Check in staff were lovely. But ….. the noise from outside is unbearable! It is a Wednesday night and we feel as if we are in the middle of Magaluf! Reception have informed us that it is likely to go on until 4.30am. They can’t move us, do not have ear plugs and are not responsible for outside noise This should absolutely be stated on their website. Do not book a room if you expect to get some sleep! Thumping bass and people screaming will ensure you will not! We have a long drive tomorrow, let’s hope I can overcome the absence of sleep and get us there safely. This has ruined a fantastic night here in Cardiff, we will never stay here again!
