Great stay, good location for motorbike rides from and back to the hotel.Just a shame the restaurant was closed till further notice, but it's not a huge issue as there are several other places to eat within walking distance.

The hotel grounds and rooms are clean though due to the main hotel having been fully booked we had a room within the section named Bothy which is dated and noisy.||All members of staff throughout the hotel were very friendly. …

Friendly helpful service, room comfortable although bathroom door didn't close shut and shower gel container empty. Breakfast served hot and very quickly, although no pastries, but overall sufficient. Rather a rabbit Warren across three floors, but clean and tidy in all areas, car park on hand and plenty of room

Well, lets start with the positives.Nice location.Internet connectivity/speed is excellent.Good parking available.Bar prices seemed reasonable for a hotel.Staff were friendly. Now the bad,On arrival, informed by a sign that there was no evening food available all week, which was never mentioned when booking.Cobwebs in the bathroomThe bedroom curtains might as well have been clear sheets of plastic for the amount of light they blocked.. not good for a nightshift worker like myself.. (which is ALWAYS put on the booking form). The room, which was booked and paid for as a double, was actually 2 singles beds pushed together, leaving a hard ridge down the middle. The mattresses were equally hard as a rock, like sleeping on a marble slab, so much so, that I only managed to get a maximum of 3 hrs sleep, waking with a sore back every day.The linen store cupboard/office was right next to my room, and I was able to hear about everybody's holidays and problems through the wall.. even when wearing ear plugs. Not conducive to a decent sleep.Every floorboard and stair creak, meaning again you can hear everybody walking around.Only decaf coffee was available at breakfast (waiting on supplies apparently).Omelets are not an option for breakfast.. but scrambled egg is??but the quality of the breakfast food was otherwise very high.To sum up, it doesn't seem like the place is really ready to run as a full blown hotel for guests.. just for weddings parties.DO NOT STAY here if your a night shift worker.Be prepared for a poor nights sleep based on the mattress quality.Be prepared to eat out everyday, as they don't give advanced warning of no food served.

On arrival we were lucky to get a space as the car park was very busy. Note - if you were unable to park here there is absolutely nowhere else in Newtown to park. …
