This place could be truly exceptional if the décor and facilities matched the stunning views—it has massive potential to become a destination hotel.||The rooms were spacious and clean, but felt very worn. …

The location of this hotel, the spa and the staff are what makes it worthy of a visit. The standard rooms, while comfy and warm are quite small but the view from the lake view rooms is breathtaking. The superior lake view rooms are fantastic. The restaurant host has looked after us on two visits, professional, courteous, efficient and friendly (sorry we didn't catch your name, tall chap, dark hair and black suit) The spa is lovely, and again makes the most of the spectacular views. Hot & Cold exposure options and lovely treatments by courteous staff. Overall this hotel is a slice of tranquility in a beautiful part of the world. Wales' hidden gem.

The dining room service is laughably bad. I've never experienced anything like it. There's some bitter, snide bloke who manages the service (or he was managing the breakfast on Sunday 3rd November) that actually shouted at me in front of the room, simply because I asked for a coffee order that he'd mislaid. It's akin to a McDonald's at rush hour (that's insulting to McDonald's). The bar staff are fantastic though. Top blokes. Great views and a lot of wonderful trails for running and hiking nearby. A beautiful hotel and location let down by a horrible member of staff. He was shouting at another guest as I left. Real troubled bloke.

This hotel was a surprise and a delight, elegance that calls back to an earlier era. Large, comfortable rooms with amazing views of the lake. Don’t miss dinner or breakfast - enjoy a first class meal as you lookout at panoramic views. This is the perfect getaway from the city - to a place of quiet that time forgot.

Stayed last night. It was great value and we were shocked how large the room was . There were two chairs and a table to sit at the window to take in the view. There were biscuits and a great choice of hot drinks. …

My daughter had been there before and said it was "fabulous". Place enchanting, service top notch and views to die for. I wanted to secretly purchase a book of the hotel for my daughter. The lady on the desk said no problems and I rang in. Book arrived today. Vyrnwy a little bit of heaven. Don't miss out, visit as soon as you can.
