The staff I met were friendly and accommodating, which I appreciated. However, the room had a noticeable bleach odor, and there was visible water damage on the ceiling that affected the overall ambiance. The bathroom could have been cleaner as well. While it’s not the worst place to stay, there is definitely room for improvement. For the price, it may be worth considering other options, but this place could still work for a short stay.

Booked here in spite of reviews, deciding that at worst, it'd be an uncomfortable stay and we would be okay.Upon checking into room 9, we were met with loose paneling and insulation all over the bathroom, as well as an angle grinder on the floor. Toilet non functional and a bin in the shower.Walking into the room your eyes and nose start stinging immediatelyUn functional light in bathroom, sink tore apart and the sheets do not appear to be changed from the last time with hair, food and black stains on them, as well as full bins in the middle of the floor. Clearly wasn't supposed to be open, described by the staff as "under maintenance".When we called, we were informed that there were no more rooms and that we could cancel our reservation with NO REFUND. Advised us to request a cancellation with booking dot com but when informed that their specific hotel does NOT OFFER THIS by us, the hotel hung up on us abruptly. This room was not fit for use in the slightest, smelled musty and they offered no option for us other than dealing with it, and that they'd fix it tomorrow morning (this was at 4:30PM), even though we are booked to stay for tonight and tomorrow night.Avoid like the plague regardless of the cheap cost.EDIT: After getting booking.com involved, we were given a new room and told we were never supposed to be in Room 9. The new room (Room 25) is very clean and comfortable, and my review will be adjusted to a 3 star from 1 stars as 4 hours of waiting in an uninhabitable room with no help without pressure from booking.com is still unacceptable.

Poor quality cheap hotel. There is no room and customer service available. No ventilation. There is no lock outside the door. My bed was next to toilet can’t lock the room whole night. Bad smell was coming out from the toilet. Dirty carpet at the reception area didn’t even change the pillow and bed cover next day. Not recommended at all. Find somewhere if you want to stay in a hotel. There is no fan and it was too hot can’t sleep at night. Avoid Avoid Avoid.

There are MANY things to be commented about Park View. ||- On the positive side, it is not expensive and it is well communicated with the center of Edinburgh (there are bus stops and the direct tram line is 5 min. walking from the hotel). …

If you love the smell of sewers and poo this is perfect hotel for you. If you like hardship and no comfort look no further. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy. The WiFi is terrible and doesn't work and we stayed in the car park. The customer service was non-existent and I will never come back here.

Location is good. Room was clean when we got there. Bathroom drains slow when you shower so its flooded for a bit. It was a little hot too as there were no fan. If you open the window you could hear the other people outside or next room. Not bad for 1 night.
