We had an absolutely wonderful experience during our recent stay for my mother's birthday. Initially, we encountered a small issue with a leak in our original room, but the hotel went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. They moved us to the Presidential Suite, which was an incredible upgrade. The suite was spacious, luxurious, and had everything we could have asked for.The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. Their exceptional service made us feel truly welcome. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, offering a wide variety of delicious options to start the day right.Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our stay and will definitely return. Highly recommended!

Doubletree by Hilton is a beautiful hotel in Edinburgh, Scotland. Perfect location within walking distance to the Royal Mile, Grass Market, and lots of great shopping and restaurants! The service was excellent, and our room was exceptional. I absolutely love the high ceilings and arched windows! One important point to mention is that this hotel has certain rooms close by the front street bars that party all night long!! I strongly suggest requesting a "quiet room" if noise is problematic for sleeping. They didn't hesitate and offered to move us with no problem.

Rooms are nice and clean but Not laid out the best. Bathroom is small compared to such a large room.Food in the bar was lacking anything exciting. 4 choices plus pizzas (which weren't available). Won't be eating here tonight.Breakfast was nice and a good selection.

Comfortable room, incredibly accommodating staff, great location. We are at the beginning of a week-long stay after business travel and long haul flights and they could not have made things nicer or easier. …

Stayed here for 3 nights in May 2024. Location was great for our sightseeing purposes. Room size is good except for bathroom. Poorly thought out storage options in bathroom. No where to hang hand towel. Height of tub/shower combo is crazy high and I worry about older people trying to safely get in and out! Terrible view from our room. Lifts were slow, so we used the stairs. Every time we stepped onto our floor there was an odd smell. Fortunately our room didn't have an odor. One night could hear a lot of noise from an adjacent room and hallway. Wasn't acknowledged as a Hilton Honors member. Would stay here again if visiting Edinburgh.

Great hotel in an ideal location in the city centre. Clean bedroom and bathroom with comfy beds. Staff were brilliant, so welcoming and friendly, especially Ricardo. The buffet breakfast was great too. Would definitely stay here again, highly recommend!

We stayed here on a weekend break to Edinburgh last weekend upon arrival we were dealt with by Sara who was extremely helpful and assisted us with the parking, checking in and a couple of other enquiries. The room was really good and the bed was very comfortable, a few cleanliness issues such as hairs in the bath streaky mirrors and the mugs had chips in them but overall we were very happy with the experience. We dined in the hotel for the first evening meal which we were extremely impressed with the fish was fresh and the presentation was excellent, breakfast was also excellent with a varied selection and very tasty. The bar was very relaxing, we retired there on the evening and enjoyed a cocktail whilst playing the games that were supplied.Overall very impressed with the hotel it helped make our weekend enjoyable.Unfortunately the Hilton rewards app has not recognised our stay.

I recently stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Edinburgh, and while there are some positives, several aspects of my stay were quite disappointing.Pros:Location: The hotel's location is fantastic. Both the New Town and Old Town are within walking distance, making sightseeing a breeze. You can explore many of Edinburgh’s attractions on foot, which was very convenient for us.Cons:Cleanliness: Unfortunately, this is where the hotel really lets us down. The housekeeping service was subpar. Our room wasn’t properly serviced during our stay, and my mother even received a towel that was extremely dirty – which (unfortunately) she only realized AFTER using it. This is unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. Their response to this issue was simply to point the blame to the 3rd party who is supposedly in-charge of cleaning towels.Room Size: The rooms, particularly the bathroom, felt cramped. For a 4-star hotel, I expected more space and comfort. The compact layout didn’t match the standards I’ve experienced in other hotels within this category.Gym Facilities: The gym is quite small and would only comfortably accommodate 2-3 people at a time. I was fortunate enough to have it to myself in the morning, but it could easily become overcrowded. If fitness is a priority for you, this might not be the best place to stay.Breakfast: The breakfast was just average. The selection could definitely use more variety, especially for a hotel of this standing. Nothing stood out, and I found myself wishing for more diverse options.Elevators: Another inconvenience was the slow elevator service. During my stay, only one elevator was operational, which often meant long waits.Overall, while the location is superb, I wouldn’t stay here again based on the cleanliness issues, small rooms, and lackluster amenities. There are likely better options in Edinburgh for the same price range.

Great location and staff were lovely. Tania and the breakfast crew were so friendly. Check-in with Wei was smooth and hassle free. King mattress needs updated but otherwise a perfect stay.

Great views and comfortable bed. Showers had mold and after a pipe cleaning the entire room filled with a rotten-cabbage sewage smell and I had to ask to move rooms because it got so bad. There is no ventilation in the bathrooms which is a breeding ground for mold and mildew. Staff were nice and helpful.
