Great location within walking distance of the train station. This hotel has a traditional Scottish feel. The staff are friendly. Some rooms are not accessible by lift such as our room on the 1st floor. It was small and there was noise from the bathroom above during the night. We had previously stayed in a nicer room on the 5th floor with a lovely view of the Firth of Forth.

We spent 5 nights at this hotel, before and after a tour in the Highlands. The location was fantastic! Right off Princes Street in a quiet little nook.  …

I stayed here three nights with my mum over the course of the week (two check ins), and if I could I'd rate this separately based on the two visits.  …

What a fabulous quaint hotel in an easily accessible part of Edinburgh. We were able to catch the airport bus and within 10 minutes walk to our hotel. Close to all sites in the city. …

I am so grateful to this hotel. It's in an excellent location, easy to get to from the train station, and we were thrilled with our room as soon as we entered. However, we realized an alarm was going off down the street that we could hear through our window. We assumed it would stop, but when we returned later that night the alarm was still going. We found the source at a shut down bar with no way to access it. We showed reception a video and explained we had concerns about sleeping, and immediately they moved us to one of the best rooms in the hotel. Originally they said we could only stay for half of our week long stay, which we were perfectly fine with, but the next morning reception found us and told us they were concerned about the alarm as well, and they told us to stay in the upgraded room for the entire time at no extra cost. We had an incredible stay thanks to this hotel. Thank you so much!

Quite an odd experience. Firstly, the location was excellent, parking no problem either. Check in wasn’t particularly welcoming. The room was comfortable but the TV was hanging precariously in its place on the wall. Well appointed bathroom but the toilet was not particularly stable on the floor, a rather disconcerting wobble. A bit of an odd bar service. Not very welcoming on our return from our evening out, no ambience. We had to ask at reception for a drink then felt very uncomfortable sitting in the “lounge” so went to our room. Could do with a bit more personality. Didn’t feel particularly “at home”. Friendlier on check out oddly. Breakfast was a big disappointment. Ordered coffee, but it was forgotten. Had to ask again. Table far too small. A fairly decent selection for Continental. Husband ordered full Scottish, which was fine. I ordered avocado toast and poached eggs. The avocado was hard. The toast was too tough to cut with my knife. The poached eggs were cold. Had high hopes, but we wouldn’t return.

What a Gem, very close to the City but in a peaceful, pleasant location. We have been to this hotel for the last 4 years and it always lives up to our expectations. Clean, well presented. …

We recently had an excellent stay at Parliament House. This hotel strikes the perfect balance of historic charm and modern comfort (good hot showers and comfortable beds). Our hostess Mills was especially welcoming and helpful during our stay! The lobby/lounge bar had a solid selection of whiskey and wine and was a cozy place for a drink before or after dinner. The breakfast cafe in the hotel is reasonably priced and the food was very good. The location is within easy walking distance of the Royal Mile, restaurants, and other attractions, but is tucked away in a quiet spot where you can get a good nights sleep. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Edinburgh.

The location of the hotel was great. According to the reviews, there appears to be a hotel bar/lounge area; however, there is no lounge area or bar; instead, the front desk receptionist serves as the "bartender" and handles all of the …

Great location, a few minutes walk from the Royal Mile and new shopping centre.Lovely reception area and lounge with a fireplace. The staff were nice and helpful. The room was clean, attractive with a nice decor. The bed was awful unfortunately. I did not sleep well at all. The bed seemed very old, the mattress was horrible. The bathroom was nice and had a bath. The drains are bad, toilet got blocked and the bath wouldn’t drain any night. Housekeeping were able to empty it.We were on the third floor and could use the lift but there are floors that you need to use stairs, and carrying heavy suitcases upstairs is not fun.My husband was not impressed with the tv, it was very small. Wifi reception was good.I would recommend as it was pleasant but personally I would return to the modern Apex around the corner. Parliament House Hotel does have oodles of character,
