An easy walk from the centre of town is the amazing Barony House. Our accommodation in the servants quarters was truly first rate. Down the stone stairs and through the big blue door was our haven in Edinburgh. …

Barony HouseThis wonderful guest house has been carefully and thoughtfully created, designed and managed by the owners. Paul and Susan have clearly poured a lot of time, attention and love into Barony House and it was a pleasure to stay. My wife and I stayed for a few days and we wish we would have stayed longer, Paul showed us kind Aussy hospitality and we had many chats about his love of UK culture and history.Barony House itself was situated in a perfect location for a Edinburgh get away and was a marvelous period property that has been decorated to an incredibly high standard, including many personal touches of pottery and arts and crafts inspired decor, created by Susan, to lovingly inject their personalities into the property. The room we stayed in was perfectly clean, decorated well and felt very warm and welcoming.Anyone thinking of staying in Edinburgh, tourist or Brit alike, should definitely book in at Barony House, I could not recommend it higher.

First time in Edinburgh and absolutely loved this place, service from the moment I booked to collecting your luggage upon checkout was truly exemplary. Genuinely faultless, I think more people should look towards these family run guest houses as the level of genuine care stretches further than I've experienced in any hotel.I will not look anywhere else to stay when coming back to Edinburgh, you simply will not find anywhere better than wants you to be there and be involved. Thanks again Paul and Susan for your cheerfulness, hospitality and above all, your humanity.See you soon!
