I recently attended a private tasting event hosted by the Port of Leith distillery and Lind & Lime. The talk was extremely interesting, hearing about how both companies were set up and getting to taste a section of the spirits they produce. There was an exquisite buffet selection to accompany the tasting which really topped off the evening! Overall it was a great experience, would highly recommend!

Stayed here for one night with my daughter on a quick visit to Edinburgh. Great location, about a 10 minute walk from the train station and about 15 minutes from the Royal Mile. Our room was a twin room on the second floor. …

A great location at the middle of new town. It is a walk up but all rooms are either on the first or second floor.  …

Attended a private event in their function suite. It was a tasting night with some spirit samples provided by lind &lime as well as port of leith. The host was fantastic, well informed and very friendly with any and all questions we have answered. The staff at the hotel are a pleasure every time we come along to these events and can’t fault the very delicious buffet provided along side the tasting.Fantastic evening as always. Thank you very much!

What a great little hotel within walking distance of so many things to do in Edinburgh! We stayed there twice during our visit to Scotland and enjoyed both visits (in the same room!) very much.  …

Hotel staff were extremely friendly and the room was well appointed and although small was perfect for a night at the fringe! The view was also amazing!||My only complaint is that those stairs can be quite the hike after night out! But it is a lovely historical building so it’s not really a complaint!

I had booked The Milne suite for a secret 60th birthday party with buffet .Bar28 laid on a PA system and LARGE TV screen to play music and show videos as part of the package .we had 50 people turn up for the celebration .there was plenty of tables and chairs for us all to be comfortable .everyone said that the buffet was delicious .drink prices were average at the bar .I had brought my own cake and the staff cut it up into portions for anyone to help themselves or use the small boxes i supplied to take a bit away. All in i would say that the night was a great success .i would recomend this place for any event .they have different size rooms for different events .Loved the nightThanks Bar28 and Chloe

Ideally situated. A 5 min walk from Princes Street and Waverley Station. Nice and quiet, with decent clean rooms and decor. They have a nice little bar, but this closes at 10pm, and this is probably the only negative. …

I held my 50th/retirement party in the downstairs function room at 28 York Place on Saturday 27.07.24. What a brilliant night we had! The music system and lights meant we could play our own soundtrack, the staff couldn't have been more friendly and attentive, and everyone raved about the grazing table we had as a buffet. It's a fantastic place to hold an event as it's so close to the train/ bus network. The staff are so helpful and couldn't have done more to make the big night so special. Thanks to you all!
