A good sized hotel well located for the Haymarket area and the western end of Princes Street, the check-in process was seamless and the staff seemed friendly enough. …

Great hotel. Clean and comfortable. Service was amazing. We started staying there on a tour and continued to stay for several days to enjoy Edinburgh. We were always pleased with the every amenity the hotel offered and will likely stay on our next trip

My partner and I flew to Edinburgh to celebrate my birthday and chose the Leonardo Hotel Haymarket for its convenient location, good reviews and price. We found it within easy walking distance of the places we wanted to explore around Edinburgh and with plenty of nearby restaurants. The hotel also had easy access to public transport routes into the city center, which was helpful. Overall, we were pleased with our choice. The hotel staff were friendly, and the service was good. Our room was comfortable, and we appreciated having a safe in the room. We booked a stay with breakfast included, and the buffet offered a nice variety of options. Although it did get busy at times, the staff did their best to keep items replenished. However, there were a few minor issues. There was a stain on the carpet in our room that, unfortunately, couldn’t be cleaned without replacing it, and the toilet flush was a bit stiff. Our room view faced the car park, which wasn’t ideal but to be fair we didn’t request a room with a view.A bigger disappointment came with a surprise my partner had arranged for my birthday. He had made a request during booking asking if the hotel could organize something special, and while they initially offered some nice options (balloons in the room or a bottle of Prosecco), he agreed to balloons in the room upon our arrival bur despite him calling reservations and reception before we arrived, it took two discussions with staff on duty for the surprise to be fully set up. I felt bad for my partner, as he had hoped to make the celebration extra memorable without needing to ask multiple times. Fortunately, one of the reception staff finally arranged a sweet setup in our room with sweets, souvenir items, cans of Irn Bru and a card from the hotel staff. I appreciated the gesture and even posted it online, tagging the hotel in gratitude.Overall, despite these small hiccups, it was still a lovely stay, and I’m thankful to the staff for their efforts.

Honestly dont have a bad word to say about this hotel at all. Great location right next to haymarket train station. Really friendly staff, large bar/food area. Free cakes and fruit water at the reception of the hotel. …

Stunning hotel with wonderful staff. I'm not normally a fan of hotel breakfast but this was actually quite nice. They had a great range of hot and continental options. |Our room was spacious and clean. |I got a great night sleep. |The fact there was an affordable carpark was a huge winning factor.

I came here through work and I had the most lovely time as a first time solo female worker. Anna and Rue were genuinely the kindest and loveliest girls to have checked me in and answer all my questions.Coming from a hotel and hospitality background myself I know how hard it can be in the industry and the girls couldn't have been more kind and helpful. I believe Rue is fairly new but you couldn't tell. She was great. Anna spent a good 15 minutes chatting with me and it felt like I was talking to a friend, she took time out of her busy evening just keeping me company as I was traveling alone. Such a lovely team! (I hope she gets to Australia!)As an overall experience I will 100% be coming back, my room was just fantastic and I had a great sleep. Breakfast was a bit lack lustre but the girls did warn me not to come down between 9 and 9:30 because it was crazy busy and I didn't listen... Guess that one is my fault. Thanks for a great stay! Hopefully I can see you again next time :)

The bed has a dip in it where previous guests have slept, which leads to a very uncomfortable night. The rooms need to be maintained and that's what the issues are - the mattress needs to be replaced in a hotel you expect at least 3 things a good mattress, clean room and bathroom. They failed on all 3 The bathroom was not cleaned well including the floor, the shower head has pink mould on it, the sink overflow hole has black mould and the sealant around the sink has black mould and as I mentioned before the mattress needs replacing. 1 positive was the room was clean but these rooms need freshening up repainted etc. Don't even think about eating in the hotel unless you want cardboard chicken and the smallest amount on your plate, also not done to a very high standard but at a high price. You can most definitely get a better meal at almost any restaurant. I have eaten at Michelin star restaurants and have been stuffed but I guess that a lot of the food was left on the plate!

Thank you for the restful stay!!! Clean rooms. Kind staff, especially Lauren W. at the front reception who went above and beyond her job duties to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. Thank you Lauren!!! Yes, I would stay here again and recommend it to friends & family. I kind of wish the hotel was closer to Prince's street, but, you get what you pay for in this world so, it's a great compromise.
