The stairways halls and bedrooms are shabby but fine. The bathroom was nicely refurbished but the water pressure is really bad. The bar is nice and the conservatory dining room is lovely. The breakfast is excellent and the evening meal was very good. The stars of the hotel are the staff. Warm, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is located centrally in Bothwell and is quiet and clean. Excellent value for money.

Called the hotel to make a booking for a room as we planned to attend a Northern Soul evening. After approximately two weeks the money hadn’t come out my account even though my bank details were taken. I attempted to call on several occasions and either got no answers or a promise of a call back. My husband and I had booked time off work and I had bought myself a new outfit. When I finally managed to speak to someone I was told the hotel are no longer taking bookings as it’s now a venue for weddings and functions. The Hotel have said that it was the previous owners fault for taking the booking. I made the booking two weeks after the new “group” took ownership. I would advise anyone making a booking to make sure you get a contact number as they are not easily reached. Oh and don’t drive into their car park. Unless you have a token you won’t get out!! I don’t imagine the new owners will maintain a level of service that it’s patrons are used to.

Food was lovely , spent alot of time talking and catching up with the staff and patrons . Staff were great and friendly and a very handsome young chap with a beard looked after us very well. Family run hotel, very relaxed vibes and welcoming. The food is real and hearty. The staff are warm and accommodating. The rooms are standard but very clean, dont expect modern but I believe that reflected in the price point. Beautiful venue for getting married. I got married here in 2013 and since then it has been updated with beautiful led dance floor and twinkly lights on the ceilings. Quite stunning. Highly recommend!

Facilities were clean and well maintained, including disabled and baby changing facilities. Function room was gorgeous!!! Perfect for a wedding reception. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. As I am breastfeeding then I was able to get a decaf coffee when requested and through in the main bar I was able to get a glass of milk when I was feeling run down. The outside area is gorgeous for pictures. The gent who runs the function hall was a bit of a microphone hog but he was very friendly and helpful. The mic wasn't great to hear what was being said in speeches, and the music being played after the band was distorted so I would recommend sound checks /new system.Food for me was beyond great but there was some mixed reviews by others who found their chicken main course to be dry.

Upon arrival our booking had not been entered even though we had phoned, card details were taken and we had received a confirmation email. We were put into whatever room they had available at that time. …

My daughter Gillian's wedding reception took place here on 10 July. The venue was laid out to our exact specification with beautiful extras put in place by Armando and his hard working team. …

Staff were brilliant.Rooms were like something out the 70s. Very dated. No lock/latch on the toilet door. Our room was like a sauna, with no air condition. Someone bright has put flower pots right at the window of the room, attracting bees/wasps which was annoying with the window open. The hotel bar wasnt extortionate, but the passion fruit daiquiri I had was impossible to drink. The guiness after that was warm- not ideal. Lager was fine though. Didn't have food but I'll admit it looked/smelled great. Not the hotels fault, but front facing rooms when there are drunk wedding guests singing at 1.30am at the front door isn't ideal.Wouldn't go back... a Premier Inn is usually cheaper and makes for a far, far nicer stay.

Excellent service. Staff really friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Overall a great weekend although the room needs an update. A little gloomy and furniture dated. Being on the ground floor couldn't keep window open as design wouldn't have been secure. However room was clean and spacious.
