Stayed at the campsite next door.Very nice place with very friendly locals that came over chatting about island life which was really interesting. George and his friends were a good laugh, thanks for the memories of two sunny afternoons in the beer garden.

First visit back to Kildonan hotel since the pandemic . Such a beautiful location. Gardens a bit overgrown but it’s obvious renovation work has gone on with | newly refurbished toilets, a welcome addition since last visit .  …

This hotel is in such a beautiful location and we really enjoyed sitting outside for a drink. Shame the staff are so rude and mean. We are vegan and they had one option on the menu that could be made vegan. We therefore asked for 2 vegan burgers and they brought out vegetarian burgers without the cheese (non vegan brioche bun and sauces etc with dairy in). We politely asked if it was vegan and they said no and suggested it was our fault for miscommunication (they clearly didnt understand what vegan meant). They said they would redo them and then left is waiting a further 40 minutes (we had a small baby with us). When we asked where our food was we were very rudely told we had gone to the back of the queue and the kitchen was now very busy! When we suggested that wasnt very fair we were told we could have a refund if we wanted (we didnt suggest this). The woman could see I was visibly upset but still came storming out to give us the money back and tried to get into an argument again in front of all the other customers outside! Very upsetting experience and we left very hungry after waiting well over an hour. Definitely wouldnt reccommend if you want food or need to interact with the staff beyond ordering a drink.

Took refuge in the bar from the rain and had probably the worst fish and chips of my life. The staff were friendly and beers were good, but the whole place desperately needed renovations and the food was bad.Go for a pint to hide from the rain but that’s all

What on earth happened to my beloved pub?The venue has a 90s school hall vibe, mismatched furniture which looks like it needs a good wash.Gardens and carpark require a bit of TLC.The alcoholic drinks were reasonable but the coffee was awful.Sad to say I doubt I'll return.

A mixed experience. Some good points about this place but some areas for improvement. The pub area is dog friendly. About 4 tables in this area. The music was really loud, too loud to speak to each other. Our peas were cold. …
