The hotel staff were very friendly and professional. The room was good size and clean as advertised. We stayed for one night for our first anniversary, we just booked the hotel as normal and didn’t mention the occasion. We received a very kind gesture from the hotel which was a surprise. They weren’t in the room when we checked in but appeared when we came back from our night out. Made our stay felt even more special, especially I am the UoE alumnus. Very thoughtful of you thank you.

Super hotel, part of university complex. Easy to get too, and either a long walk or short taxi ride to the city centre. We were visiting the Festival Theatre which is even closer. Wonderful friendly service from everyone there, as well as a well appointed clean quite stylist atmosphere. Well worth the stay.

It is a facility within the area of Edinburgh University student dormitories. We were greeted by a friendly staff. The building is a bit old but the rooms have been renovated. Breakfast, bar and dinner were very enjoyable. Free parking was on campus and safe. We went wherever we wanted by bus from the bus stop right on the street. By purchasing a daily ticket, we traveled without any transportation problems.

Had a lovely stay here with one caveat. On the plus sideLocation is greatRooms are super comfyShower and bathroom is excellentStaff are great. One star off this rating as we asked for a quiet room but 302 was in an area where we heard deliveries and noise so sour sleep was not as restful as we wished. It is a wonderful hotel but my reason for 4/5 is just a personal preference which was not given in the room allocation.

One of the worst hotel stays I've ever had in my entire life. The entire hotel smells like mold and it's damp and extremely hot. When I went into my room there was visible bed bug eggs on the bedding and when I told the front desk about it they just exchanged our room but this next one actually smelled of urine and dog. Do they allow pets here? That's what it smelled like. I had a super sweaty restless nights sleep and when I rose in the morning I had a rash all over my back. The shower pressure is minimal- a drizzle at best and they didn't even give me enough towels. The ones I did get had brownish stains on them. The wifi I paid for also barely worked. I know this hotel has good reviews and it tricked me too. I'm a real person whose stayed here and this place is a disaster! Do not come. It's also very far from the city center so be prepared to pay for an expensive Uber. Traveler beware!

Attended a week long conference here and had a very enjoyable stay! Modern, comfortable rooms, a great buffet breakfast, and conveniently located next to a major bus stop so we could get around town easily.

If you want a quiet stay but not far from the city centre, this should suit you. Family friendly with backyard small garden. Lots of green spaces around to walk and refresh your mind.Southward from the Newington area, and the Edinburgh city centre can be reached within 15-20 minutes walking from this hotel. There are also bus stops nearby.
