Ideal spot for us, due to a party. Friendly staff, looks like it just had been upgraded and the name was changed.Party there when we arrived, so busy and noisy. Had a meal in the restaurant which was very reasonably priced and delicious.Back from our party to another party (I am assuming) so worried out the loud noise and the music, but my 12:30 it was very quiet and no noise at all.Room was great and clean. Bed soft but I got a great night's sleep. We hadn't booked breakfast, but we could have just walked in.Carpark over to the pub was in need of repair, hard I think for wheelchair users. I didn't see access to hotel rooms for disabled, so would need to ask. I have mobility issues and just managed the stairs. We enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Went for lunch and was delighted. The food was good and reasonably priced. It was a surprise to find a range of pastries as an option for desert .I also found that it was open from 0800 with filled rolls and all day breakfast. You also have the option to take dogs in to part of the dining area.

Afternoon tea disappointing. Sandwiches okay, scones nice, cakes felt like yesterdays. Don't feel it was value for money.

Pleasant restaurant and staff. Food is unpredictable. The burger was a bit small and lacked any decent filling which made it dry. Chips n coleslaw were very good.Food served on the comedy night's is appalling. Tasteless, probably bulk processed curry with zero taste, served with stodgy rice and a couple of prawn crackers! Truly horrible.

This hotel is fantastic with a modern interior, friendly atmosphere and staff. It has a lovely modern restaurant downstairs just past reception at the main entrance,I didn't book a room as I was at a function but going with the standard of refurbishment of the hotel I'd say the rooms would be just as amazing as the rest of the hotel.

A true reflection of a venue is how they deal with issues. Yes, the Christmas Day service was a disaster! When I approached the venue, Colin the GM explained, but more importantly acknowledged the problems. Colin took time to call me to explain and dealt with the complaint quickly and professionally. The service was so out of character for the venue that I will visit again and give it another chance. I’m confident it will be an enjoyable one.

The positive - The staff were very helpful when they could be but the main issues that we had were out of their control. We were stuck for a taxi back at 1am during the stay after being let down and the staff sorted one so again couldn't praise the reception staff enoughThe negatives - There was an event on the night that we stayed which shook the room from the bass. Wouldn't have been a problem if warned, we just wouldn't have stayed. Obviously out of the control of the staff and they were very apologetic. The room also had a weird smell which was off putting as well as used milk pots left in the tea & coffee caddy. The bedsheets are too small for the bed so they were constantly coming off. The bed itself was fine and very big but the sheets made it an issueThe larger shower head was filthy (black/green mould), the tap wasn't secure and had to be held down with one hand before being able to be turned on with the other hand. Would much rather use a Premier Inn next time

Terribly noisy. There was a wedding with loud music below our room until 1amBreakfast not served before 10am on a Saturday... which is unheard of elsewhere.Food was good though.
