A last minute booking as I was tired driving north from the South of England booked at 11.45pm it was early March I still had an hour's drive to reach Glasgow. It was cheap so I was more interested if it was clean than luxurious. I reached the hotel at about 1.15am and checked in asked about parking and was given a card told to go to this car park the card would entitle me to 50%discount on the car park rate. Lie number 1, parked car went to check in to the room got keys in room carpet torn and curtain in a similar state room however was clean. Breakfast in the morning was paltry and of poor quality even the cup of tea was no better than wet and warm (mind you my impression was it was somewhere you could crash out if you were on the session in Glasgow) and you obviously weren't very picky. Got back to my room to grab a shower and by 10.10 am a woman was banging on my door screaming and bawling I was going to be charged £25 if I didn't leave the room immediately. I'm in the shower so I shouted back to remind her that I was very late in checking in. Her reply was she didn't care it wasn't her problem.I checked out to a pile of verbal from the receptionist, reach the carpark got a hold of an official asked how the discount deal works and showed him the card he laughed and said it was a con £18.00 to park from about 1.20am to 10.30 amPersonally I would never use this place again and they did charge my card for being late in leaving the room accordingly it was a 10am check out but I was not told this on checking in.

This hotel is used as emergency accommodation for our city's homeless. I had the misfortune of having to visit the hotel a few weeks ago. The atmosphere as you walk in is grim. The staff were sat at reception like prison warders. One resident was breaking his heart at reception to a member of staff with folded arms. He even turned away to ask me if he could help me during their exchange. He didn't offer to take the gent into a private space. It felt uncomfortable for me but must have been degrading and humiliating for the poor resident. Avoid at all costs. I only hope Glasgow City Council read this review. They definitely need to take a look at how this hotel treats our city's most vulnerable.

Stayed here for 3 nights in February at time of very cold stormy weather but there was a warm welcome at this hotel. Our room was on the top floor and was beautifully done out, lovely warm and cozy. …

This hotel is a lovely place with an old fashioned feel to it,on arrival the staff were very friendly and nothing was an issue to them. the cost of the rooms were reasonable and warm the only down side to the room is the bed was a bit small to share with my husband and small son

Good value, a lot more character than most hotels in this price range. The reception staff where first-class, the breakfast good and sensibly priced. The room had loads of plug sockets, and was pretty large. Down sides, the floor was incredibly creaky, there was a bit of road noise and sometimes I could feel a bus make the room shake. I had a really good night's sleep, the bed was very comfy and I would definitely stay here again as it is so well located.

Great, central location, very close to most of that the city center offers, even next to Glasgow Central train station. Staff friendly and helpful, went out of their way to make guests feel welcome. My room met my needs completely. …

Two minutes from central station so great location. Two flights of stairs to get to reception with your cases. We were allocated a Queen suite on 4th floor another six flights of stairs with the cases. …

Staff friendly and helpful rooms spotless if on a small size. Our bathroom was almost the size of the bedroom ha ha. Only downside was really isn't suitable for anyone with mobility or health problems as due to age and history of this beautiful building there are no lifts. Our breakfast choice was first class and our cooked breakfast was tasty and warm. Definitely will return again as its central to the shopping malls and train station.
