A great hotel which is well located. We stayed here for one night and had a great time.On arrival, I wasn't given an upgrade as a diamond member despite rooms showing as available. However the chap checking me in assured me that room 570 has the best views of the Castle. He wasn't wrong and we were very happy with the room which was a good size and very comfortable. He also sorted out a small gift as it was my wife's birthday which was very much appreciated.Good modern technology in the rooms with the ability to Cast to the TV.Service was good and the hotel were happy to send up a toothbrush and hairbrush to the room.Breakfast was very disorganized. We waited in line for a table as multiple staff members walked past without acknowledging anyone waiting. The first table we were shown to was dirty so we had to ask to move. Tea took 15 minutes to arrive, the breakfast order arrived wrong and the buffet was missing items and wasn't restocked quick enough . The food was excellent but I'd have liked more Scottish breakfast items in addition to haggis - square sausage, potato scones black pudding etc...The deep tissue massage at the Spa was great. It sorted out my tight legs and was pretty painful but also relaxing at points too.

Positive - Free water and coffee, huge gym! It also had a swimming pool, dry and hot saunas that were clean. Loved the social happy hours from 5-6pm daily where you get free wine (and cocktail on Saturday), and mingle with other travelers. location can’t be beat.Only complaint was somehow we got the handicapped room, so everything was very low to the ground

I recently stayed at the Kimpton Charlotte Square for two nights, and while it was a bit of a splurge for me, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The whole place is full of character and charm. Breakfast in the grand dining room was well worth it, not just for the food but also for the setting. The location is unbeatable—stepping out the front door puts you right in Charlotte Square. Just behind the hotel is Rose Street, with tons of shops and restaurants. The nearest train stop is just a short walk away, making exploring the city easy. The staff were some of the friendliest I’ve ever encountered. I came and went several times throughout the day, and every time I came back through the lobby, I was greeted like an old friend. As for the rooms and amenities, they’ve really thought of everything. The gym and spa were top-notch, and my room was stocked with thoughtful touches like a clothing steamer and pour-over coffee. Kimpton Charlotte Square exceeded my expectations, and I'd definitely stay again.

Amazing hotel! Great staff, rooms, location, food... Everything about our stay at the Kimpton Charlotte Square exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed our complimentary drinks from 5-6 pm, and while we were doing so, the delightful, charismatic Raghda from Guest Relations came up and introduced herself and asked if our stay was satisfactory. She also gave us a tin of Scottish shortbread. It is this level of hospitality that makes the Kimpton Charlotte Square a standout among great hotels.

We loved our recent stay at the hotel. We were offered an upgrade to a king room before we arrived and quickly agreed to pay more. This turned out to be a great choice for us since we stayed for 6 nights. The staff were warm and friendly and we truly felt welcome.

Definitely a 5-star hotel. Happy hour allowed us to sample a glass of wine and a shot of scotch. We did not have reservations for dinner and went across the street for that. The beds were very comfortable, the decor classic, the tap water and soaps excellent and breakfast, which we purchased with our room was first class-coffee, eggs, breads, meats, everything. I nay wish we had time for the spa!
