My room was clean and spacious with hardwood floors. It was in the basement but still had plenty of light. I would give it 5 stars but the walls are really thin. I could hear everything my neighbours were doing/saying, which was annoying. The staff was lovely and the hotel is located in a very nice area.

I booked two rooms last September 2023 for a group going to the British open golf in July 2024. The hotel cancelled my booking without notice in June .There was no explanation except to say that they overbooked . Alternative accommodation at late notice cost me £300 and we could not change the weekend as flights and golf tickets were paid for . I think the hotel took the opportunity to get a higher price . This is terrible treatment from a chain like the best Western .

This is literally a smelly, sweaty hotel. The rooms opposite the lift stink of bins outside or fast food. We moved to the opposite side, tried to open the window and it was broken. It’s really hot but the hotel have no fans to provide. They have a ridiculous rule about no external food or drinks and threaten to charge you £30 if you break this.Guests shouldn’t have to be anxious about getting a nice coffee delivered or sharing a bottle of wine in the room when you’re having a trip away with friends. I’ve never experienced such nonsense in any other hotel.Seems like a con to make you use the hotel bar and breakfast which are extortionate. Had a pint in the hotel bar, paid £7 and immediately returned it as it tasted like egg. They charge £17 for breakfast but after seeing rats round the bins outside we opted now to eat here! It’s also very noisy all night!

Simple hotel (?) that serves the purpose. Excellent location. Depending on who mans the front desk, you could get varied services. Either super strict (basically, you can't do this and you can't do that) or a bit more personal experience.Breakfast staff were generally nice.Room... well, housekeeping isn't the best. Mixed experience for the 4 nights stay. Heating is mysterious. Too cold or too warm, and no, you can't control the temperature. Shower felt cramped and water leaked to bathroom floor. Toilet wad also a bit mysterious, as it worked at times, and didn't at other times.Location was great, near by University of Glasgow, where u needed to be, and great restaurants near by.It's no Hilton or Marriott.

I recently stayed at a hotel on the west side of Glasgow, conveniently located near the university and the SSE Hydro. I was value for the price given. The breakfast offered provided a great start to each day of my stay. The accommodations were lovely and comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring the city. One of the standout aspects of my experience was the approachable and friendly staff. They were always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I needed during my stay.Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this hotel and would definitely choose to stay here again on future visits to Glasgow. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay on the west side of the city.Parking and wifi was free

What a great hotel right close to the Hydro and the West End. Lots of pubs and restaurants in the area. Gabriel the concierge was so helpful and very friendly. Robin the owner even helped park our car. The room was specious and clean. I would definitely recommend the vegetable curry with rice and nan for just over £10.Overall, a fantastic experience what a wonderful hotel.

My partner took me to the Devoncove as part of a Christmas/ Birthday treat which I was very excited about. Unfortunately our stay wasn't up to what we expected. The rooms were very clean and it is situated in a brilliant area in Glasgow. We unfortunately had noisy neighbours which was frustrating. Our experience allowed us to observe that some staff seemed to be ran of their feet compared to others who appeared to observe the chaos. Especially during check in and dining. However more shockingly, if you bring any food or drink into the room which wasnt from the restaurant there was a £30 fine. This was never disclosed on the website we booked through or at check in.We did eat at the restaurant which was an unpleasant experience. The food was vile. My partners dish was clearly burnt and was turned over to appear cooked and my own was so oily that I only ate a few bites. Both myself and partner felt ill after eating at the restaurant. The poor waiter who served us seemed completely unknowledgable about the drinks and food on the menu (we assumed a new start) and was on their own.Overall not the best experience/ service and won't be back.

Stayed here the night before an exam in the morning as I commute from far. The location is good, half an hour walk or so from the other end of sauchiehall street. Plenty places to eat around the area. The room was fine, get what you pay for. Nice size TV, tea, coffee, hairdryer. Although it was roasting and you can't control the heating/air con. Bed wasn't very comfy, especially the pillows. Bathroom was good.Had a meal in the restaurant, food was excellent but service quite slow and it wasn't busy. The no food from outside rule is a bit odd, first time I've seen this. I can understand no deliveroo, justeat etc to increase business for the restaurant, but surely something like a banana or biscuit in the room should be fine? Who knows.
