We stayed overnight here in early September. It's a wonderful place to stay. We had a beautiful, spacious room with a really comfortable bed. There is a great selection of well kept beers in the bar, which has a lovely atmosphere. We didn't have dinner in the hotel, but the breakfast was excellent. All who work there are very welcoming and helpful. Our car broke down while we were there and our hosts could not have been more accommodating. There was a long wait before the RAC could get to us and we were able to stay in our room at no extra cost unril help arrived. Newport itself is a charming place - it must be one of the most unspoilt coastal villages in Wales. We can't wait to return.

Great overnight stay at the Castle Inn in spacious family room. Highlight has to be the breakfast and Sunday lunch though -we have a number of complicated allergies and everyone was very thoughtful and we had delicious meals! Also recommended a lovely local beach. Thank you Castle Inn, we’ll definitely be back!

I don’t normally write reviews but felt compelled to do so tonight. Just had a lovely family meal in the restaurant. We had Makhan chicken curry, seaweed wrapped battered tofu, halloumi burger and popcorn chicken with sriracha mayonnaise and kimchi. The rest of the family had dessert but I was too full having finished off everybody’s chips! Staff were very pleasant and efficient. Food was very tasty and portions pleasing. Feel very happy to have received a wonderful meal in a lovely relaxed environment whilst supporting a family business. Thank you!

The food at the Castle inn is first class. The staff were very friendly and did not rush us. The portions are huge and worth every penny. I could not fault a single thing and have no problem recommending for anyone who likes fine food and a great atmosphere. 5*

We went for a meal there on our last day of week camping. We wish we had tried it sooner because the whole atmosphere of the pub from staff to the food and the people in there was so nice and relaxing oh and the landlord is alright 👍. They even made the dog welcome, and there have a menu for dogs as well. Murphy, our cano-corsa, had sausage and rice and got it everywhere, but he loved it. If you're staying in the area or passing go there food is excellent and not to price and a good range of drinks. Thanks for having us. we will be back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is for the restaurant only - which we visited during our stay in the area.One-line-summary:try the pigeon pie, but give soup a miss.We had mixed feelings from our visit. On the one hand, I was very pleased with my pigeon pie - by far the best pie I had in years 👍🏼On the other hand, my wife's soup was extremely salty, while mackerel pate was both 'watery and salty' 👎🏼My wife also fished out a piece of plastic from her soup 🤦🏼, which we promptly reported to the staff. They offered their apologies and offered to replace the soup, which to some extent improved the situation. Both soup and pate have been excluded from the bill, which made us feel better. Our daughter's pizza Margarita was just ok.As a result - a bag of mixed feelings for us.* Great pigeon pie - a must try 👍🏼* Mediocre, but edible pizza 😐* Canned salty soup and mackerel pate 👎🏼* Friendly staff, who care about their customers 👍🏼
