Our stay at Wanosato was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm hospitality and attention to detail. The room was luxurious and spotless. The Kaiseki Hida beef dinner was one of the best meals of our trip. If you are lucky, stick around after dinner and enjoy local sake and a magic show by the fire. The onsen was also wonderful to relax in after a long day of sightseeing. If you want to experience Japanese hospitality at its finest, book this place!

It was one of the best things we did on this trip! Overall experience out of this world! We were picked up at the station, and dropped off in front of the inn where the staff was waiting for us. They welcomed us with tea and a sweet, and showed us to our room. The inn provides you with yukata and all amenities to make your stay comfortable. Our room had a beautiful view of the river, and the sound of the river running was so relaxing. The dinner was amazing. I emailed them that me and my sister prefer a vegetarian menu but would gladly try anything given. They created a completely vegetarian menu just for us, and everything was amazing and well explained by the staff. The staff is very polite and thoughtful, they do their best to take care of the guests. The gardens around the property are good for a stroll, they are a bit left to their own but still very charming. While we had dinner they prepared the futon in our bedroom. The futons were really comfortable, I slept like a baby. The onsen is located down stairs from the main hall, and in the evening its booked for private sessions. Ours had the main hot pool right next to a mizuburo (cold pool), to cool off after the hot bath.Breakfast was again out of this world. The experience felt overall authentic and amazing, I'll treasure the memories made there.

An EXPERIENCE definitely worth trying, the location is slightly out of the way but a minibus will arrive to pick you up and take you back outside the train/bus stationDinner and breakfast are prepared with the utmost care and attention. We asked for a vegetarian menu and they prepared everything for us with the utmost care and attention. We tried the onsen and in the room we found traditional clothes to dress in during dinner. They prepared us even the futons to sleep in, the view andit was fantastic immersed in the woods, what can I say, it is definitely an experience worth trying, neither words nor photos would convey it.In all this very kind and helpful staff.

For the high price we paid for a private bungalow suite, we expected a little more from this Ryokan. …

Since it has the highest rating in the area, I wanted to give it a try. When I checked in, the receptionist was very gentle and smiling.feels goodBut after checking in, I found outThere is a strong musty smell in the roomThe walkway where the bathhouse is located on the basement floor of the main house is also full of moldy smell.Yukata in the room will only be enlarged in sizeWe have to hold on to our clothes when walking and going up stairs so we don’t trip. The service staff also turned a blind eye and had no intention of changing it for us.For dinner, they specially introduced their grilled fish, which was grilled for 90 minutes, but the food was cold. Maybe we chose to eat at seven o'clock, while another group of guests chose to eat at six o'clock, so we always cooked it first, so we didn't feel overwhelmed. respectThe electric heater in the room uses kerosene, and the smell is very strong when it is turned on.When I checked in that day, the wood factory opposite was in operation. The machines were very noisy, and the smoke was constantly coming out, polluting the air of the entire B&B. (Of course, this is not a problem with the B&B, but the guests staying there have no way to enjoy the forest. good air)It was a very bad stay experience
