Due to the traffic jam we arrived at the Ryokan much too late. We were also warmly welcomed and a delicious meal was ready in our room. Very hospitable!

A delightful and authentic experience! We stayed here overnight during our visit to the Magome-Tsumago trail walk and felt very welcome. Kindly they kept our bags prior to check-in so that we could explore town and take the trail walk. The included meals were nothing short of epic, delicious and beautifully presented. After dinner we were able to participate in learning a traditional dance from the owner. We felt very welcomed during our stay, thank you for your hospitality!

This hotel is much more than just a place to sleep, it is a destination in itself. In addition to sleeping on tatami in the traditional way, it includes a traditional dinner with a classical singing show, a bath with thermal water and a complete breakfast. All this for two people cost us €126 per night. It's nice to spend the night in Magome, when there are hardly any tourists left, they make the visit more special!

Small guest house located on the main street of Magome, it would seem like an old house adapted to accommodate travelers with few rooms (about 10 we calculate). The renovations carried out in the house are the right ones to make it more comfortable but without renouncing the old essence, in an unbeatable atmosphere. It has a small individual onsen, separated by gender as in all of Japan, which runs by the hour and is perfect for relaxing when you return from the Nakasendo route. Both breakfast and dinner, included in the price of the accommodation, are served in a small dining room with the rest of the guests, where everything is delicious and the portions are full.It also has parking for cars. The lady who runs it is very kind and helped us with everything we needed.Magome is a town with a lot of charm, which perfectly captures the essence of the Japanese countryside, during the day it is quite crowded but from the evening calm reigns. It's a magical experience!

Beautiful traditional Japanese inn right at the popular Magome-Tsumago section of the Nakasendo post route trail. We stayed here for two nights, which was very pleasant. The building is beautiful and quite old. It has several steep stairs and low ceilings, which are a bit challenging for tall Europeans, but definitely very charming. Our room was smallish but had very comfortable (thick!) futons. The inn has beautiful bathrooms (separate for men and women) which you can book for private 30-minute sessions. Breakfast and dinner are included. Although nice, we were a bit disappointed that our dinner was exactly the same two nights in a row.

Authentic Japanese Ryokan ExperienceStaying at this ryokan truly felt like experiencing real Japanese living. The atmosphere was peaceful and not crowded, giving a genuine sense of being in a traditional Japanese house. Everything was impeccably clean, adding to the authenticity of the experience. The highlight of my stay was the amazing dinner featuring authentic Japanese cuisine. Each dish was a delight for the senses, and the flavors were truly exceptional. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, making the experience even more memorable.I highly recommend staying here for an overnight getaway in this quiet town. Sometimes, a peaceful night in a serene environment is just what we need. I will definitely be returning to this ryokan for another unforgettable stay.

It is a traditional Ryokan with Japanese-style rooms. Dinner and breakfast are provided as a full set, Dinner time 18.00, Breakfast 7.30. There is a time to choose to shower in Sento style for 30 minutes per room on Check-In day, while on Check-Out morning it will be shower style. The downside is the stairs. Going up the floor is a bit steep. If you have large suitcases or elderly people, it may be difficult for you to use the bathroom. Bathrooms are all on the ground floor. But overall the location is very good, right in the middle of Magome-juku.
