First time in Japan this place exceeded my expectations! My wife and I had a wonderful ryokan experience. The private onsen, kaiseki dinner and breakfast, all you can drink and snacks. Wonderful and kind staff, Rika Wakayama was the one that set up our kaiseki dinner in the comfort of inside our room and congratulated us on our recent wedding.

It was a perfect stay in Suiun, like the Onsen and Kaiseki Ryori the traditional Japanese style food. It was a heavy rainy and strong wind day when we checked out. Since my wife and me have a lot luggages they tried to call taxi for us but failed. Finally they help us to contact the hotel where we were going to stay to pick us up. That was so attentive and sweet.

Excellent as usual. We went back again exactly one year after. After you surrender your shoes at the entrance, you will feel like home in the entire ryokan. …

This was a medium sized onsen hotel by Dormy Inn with modern Japanese interior. There's a private onsen with real spring water in the balcony in each room, as well as the public bath and the three private open bath. Nothing to criticise about the facilities, service and food. The place was quiet even it's full housed and you hardly see other guests except at supper ramen time.I was able to leave my luggage at it's sister hotel next to Gora station, before I caught the ropeway to Sounzan. The luggage was delivered directly to my room before I checked in.One small downside was, while they claimed to offer unlimited snacks and drinks 24hrs, it wasn't really unlimited. There was no milk nor bottled water left when I came out from the public onsen at 11pm. The receptionist told me to come back at 5am!

Stayed here in December 2023 and it was such a unique and wonderful experience. We loved the serene and traditional Japanese ryokan atmosphere. The kaiseki is out of this world, everything was just so pretty and delicious. Location is very ideal, close to the gora station and within walking distance to the Hakone ropeway which was awesome. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. My husband loved the in-house massage and we loved the private onsen. Our room was immaculate and beautiful, particularly loved the bathroom design. Loved the yukata, kind of sad that it was not for sale. I thought staying in a ryokan would be a once in-a-lifetime thing, but we are seriously considering coming back to Suiun ❤️

I am pleased with the room and the facility. The dinner was supposed to be a kaiseki experience, but most of the courses were rushed through. The next course was already served when I was half way through the previous ones.

A slightly premium onsen resort with mixed style of Japanese and Western room, in-room semi-outdoor private onsen wooden bathtub that can fit 3 people is great. Unlimited supply of bottled water, bottled tea and even can beer in "Kimimachi Room" on each floor are very welcome, more choices of snacks and beverages are available in the B1 "Seizan" lounge. However, the onsen water is not constantly flowing in the private bath house (Kashikiri Buro) posed a hygiene concern for us. The waitress in the restaurant is not walking us through the menu and we are confused if the course had ended or not, and not even a celebration message for my birthday that was already mentioned is slightly disappointed.Be reminded to let the hotel know if you are planned to go by car as their car park is tiny and you would need to reserve for the parking space in advance.

We had a good time staying in this hotel 翠雲 for one night. Both private and public onsen are awesome. The room is so nice designed and very homey. Staff is great and very helpful. Food is ok. The late night snack ramen is awesome, so do the snacks bar, ice pops and milk!

All staff are friendly. They tried to speak English or used Google translate to communicate. The rooms were nice, spacious and clean. I liked that there were snacks 24/7 however they weren’t restocked often in the bar area when we went down around 10pm. The view from our room was nice and the onsen was truly amazing. They even had private onsens for you to try out in different areas in addition to the private onsen in your room. The only issue I had with the property was the lack of flexibility regarding the food system. I don’t eat beef or pork and wanted a western breakfast which contained some pork. I asked if they could simply leave the pork out and give me the rest of the food. Apparently that was not allowed and they couldn’t make an exception. Given we were paying $500 per night, I thought the food was made fresh and not in bulk. We ended up cancelling our breakfast and going somewhere else. This place is not friendly to people with dietary restrictions so keep that in mind before booking. There were not many details online when booking. The dinner kaiseki was mediocre at best. The food didn’t have much flavor or variety. Both my partner and I were hungry after.Overall, this was a great stay in terms of having a comfortable room with a nice private onsen.
