its hidden away and is a quiet place. the ryokan is hard to find at night as there are not much lights. but the service is good. the food is crazy good and the onsen is amazing~! there have been only 3 foreigners in this place over the last 70 years. so one could say its VERY japanese. i would come back here again

Great Ryokan with great onsen. We spent one night in room with private onsen. Room was clean with small in room onsen suitable for two person. It is also possible to use big private onsen which is highlight of this hotel. Price is very competetive when comparing with other ryokan with in room onsen. Definatelly worth visiting and spending at least one night.

It was my first time staying there.The room I reserved is the one on the top floor (Monday).I chose this room because it was a popular room.Although it is on the 3rd floor, there is no elevator, so it is not recommended for people with walking disabilities.The private bath and restaurant are also farthest away, so it takes some time to get there.There was no problem with the room itself, but the important thing was the open-air bath.I'm very disappointed, but it seems like it hasn't been cleaned at all.A bandaid from the previous guest was left on the edge of the bathtub.Since it is an open design, there is no door blocking the bath and wooden deck.If you don't clean it properly, dirt will accumulate as long as it is open.The wood deck part didn't seem to have been cleaned at all, and it was extremely dirty with moss turning it green.I wanted to make my stay as comfortable as possible, so I had some cleaning equipment (deck brush) so I polished the wood myself.The big problem is that the staff don't realize that the place is dirty enough for customers to clean it.I would like to ask for improvements for the next person staying here.Clean using a high-pressure washing machine such as Karcher.This is my first time to have an open-air bath in a guest room that is so dirty.Regarding the amenities in the guest room, there were no hair ties, and it was disappointing that there were only two hangers in the closet.It was dinner, but I got the impression that there was nothing that could only be eaten here.Regarding the seasoning, it was a strong seasoning for us.I think the breakfast was good.If you're going to explain that the rice is cooked and the clay pot is hot, then maybe you should prepare a towel separately.It would be better to have a container to hold the rice scoop.I think the renovated rooms are beautiful,I thought it would be better not to choose a room that had been renovated.I prefer accommodations with good food and comfortable rooms with open-air baths.I don't think I will make a reservation next time.
