I wanted to participate in Yuntaku on Taketomi Island, so I chose Obama-so where Yuntaku is held. It's a guesthouse on the island, but to sum it up, it's very good. First, I arrived at the inn in the morning and left my luggage there. There was a lot of information at the inn, and it said that if you called Himawari Bicycle, they would bring it to the inn, so I ordered a bicycle as well (Himawari Bicycle seems to be the cheapest on the island, 1500 yen a day). We rode around the island on a bicycle and returned to our accommodation in the evening. There are two showers to wash off your sweat, and shampoo and body soap are provided. The room was 4.5 tatami mats in size, but it wasn't a problem for two people, and you could use the air conditioner for 90 minutes for 100 yen, so it was comfortable even in summer. Some rooms are separated from the neighbors by a sliding door, so there may be quite a bit of noise, so if you don't like that kind of thing, avoid staying in guesthouses.Dinner starts at 6pm and includes tuna sashimi, fuchampuru, vermicelli, miso-pickled bitter gourd, and fried shrimp and fish. In terms of content, it's home-cooked food, but Okinawan dishes such as fuchanpuru are especially delicious with a tropical feel, and the soki in the soup is also very soft, so I think most people will like the dishes. Rather than traveling to a tropical country and spending a lot of money on lavish cuisine, eating food with a local feel will make you feel the meaning of coming to the island. After dinner and a little rest, I went to the garden and found myself playing Yuntaku. On this day, there were a lot of people who love remote islands and had spent several nights on Hateruma Island and Iriomote Island, and some of them even brought awamori, called the phantom awamori from Hateruma Island, as well as sanshin. There were two people who were there, and they had a session right in front of me, and it was very lively. I brought awamori with me from Ishigaki Island, but the inn's cafeteria sells beer, shochu high, and snacks, as well as juice from vending machines, so you can buy it locally and participate in Yuntaku. Perhaps because there were so many people who liked Usagi Ni Kaku remote islands, it was fun to hear all kinds of stories, and even though I met them for the first time, everyone was very kind, which probably reflects the atmosphere of Taketomi Island. It was a great night as we all sang shimauta along with the sanshin.Additionally, you can use two washing machines and one dryer for a fee, which helps you save on changing clothes. Detergent is also provided, so just bring some 100 yen coins. The price is 7,000 yen including dinner and breakfast, so I'm grateful for the reasonable price, and if I come to Taketomi again, I'd like to stay here. However, according to the people staying at the inn, it is extremely rare for Sanshin to be played and everyone is as excited as they were this time, and to begin with, Yuntaku itself is not held as much as it used to be. We were very lucky to have so many passionate remote island enthusiasts gather this time, and we are grateful to everyone who was there.
