Rooms were very narrow and dirty.The food was terrible, very few options and there is almost nothing for vegan people. It is also very remote. The sockets were very poorly placed. The single layer toilet paper was also very bad and you had to get 2 rolls almost every day.

Quite OK to stay overnight. But service is not that important here. There was black mold in the shower and you had to pay extra for breakfast. But WiFi is free and also quite fast and stable.

I had a very bad experience for the hotel and I actually don't have a star to give it and the room was dirty and a pair of underwear was also in the closet from the previous person. The staff refused to clean it. I'm at a loss for words to recommend it

Don’t recommend staying here. Waited extra one hour for the check in because the rooms were not ready, rooms were not properly cleaned, trash full everywhere. Location is far from the subway

I spent one night in the hostel. The hostel is nicely decorated, but unfortunately there were some negative points. I stayed in a shared dormitory that also had its own shared bathroom. Unfortunately this bathroom was not cleaned every day. When we arrived the room had already been used by someone for three nights. The trash can was full and smelled unpleasant, there was no toilet paper left, and the toilet was in a very unhygienic condition. The floor in the common room was also sticky and the trash cans there were also overflowing.

A good price-performance ratio... nice service and very helpful staff... always friendly with every request... we felt we were in good hands... the options for staying outside of the room were nice... we missed it nothing.... a colorful atmosphere in the hostel, families with children, travelers from all over the world and all nice young people.... it was quiet and pleasant.... we like to come back and will do so.

1 night: no towel on the bed2 night all male residents changing in front of a woman (me) nkt3 night about 80 year old man in the room who wears a diaper, walks around half naked, snores loudly/smells and doesn't clean after himself. Reception = I'm really sorry for what you're going through (I don't get a real apology or money for having to go through this nonsense WHILE HE HAD BEER IN THE ROOM AND PEEED IN THE BATHROOM WITHOUT WITING IT OFF)4 nights I suddenly get a single room BUT water runs out of the shower in every room, you can't charge your cell phone with a charging cable because THE SOCKET IS TOO SLOW AND SUCKS YOUR POWER OUT, the walls have black marks on them, 8.50 for breakfast The food is significantly cheaper in the nearest store, you need a lock for the locker, so what's that supposed to be?

Hello,I found the hostel very dirty.There was a very strong smell coming from the sink and toilet. Even the toilet paper smelled because you bought the cheapest of the cheapest.The location is also very far out and not recommended.The lady at the reception couldn't help much with questions and could also speak very broken German.I also forgot something in the hostel and it's impossible to ask if it's been found because no one responds to emails and no one answers the phone anyway.

Unsafe, hostile and overall traumatising experience.Please read in full before booking a stay here.When I was seeking a room change, the man at the reception said he was not on shift, that he turned off all computers and told me to wait for an hour for the next staff member.I decided to wait in the lobby and he started to invade my personal space, threateningly stripping the couch where I sat from underneath me. This happened at 5:40am with no witnesses, and therefore, for my own safety, I decided to video this behaviour. However, he hit my phone from my hand causing the screen to crack and shatter into pieces. The extent of the employee’s hostility induced my anxiety to the point I locked myself in the toilets, waiting until the next employee arrived.I did not feel safe to stay for a second night, and requested a refund for my stay in an email after explaining this incident. Mike Sperber, the manager of the hostel, was shamelessly complicit with his employee’s hostile aggression and vandalism of my property along with the effect it had on my mental health, and refused to acknowledge any kind of responsibility for his employee’s actions.Apart from unprofessional standards of customer service reaching the heights of physical aggression by staff, excused by shockingly poor management, the hostel also suffers from the following:* broken charging port* broken bedside lamp* broken outside window/door in my room that did not shut (which can cause significant issues especially at night, and therefore causing requests for room changes*)* Understaffing and long waiting periods for service* Far distance from public transport* Poor location with not much to see in the areaIf you wish to experience a stressful and unsafe stay in Berlin, Nena Hostel is the right place for you. Otherwise, I would recommend staying literally anywhere else.*A personal recommendation to the hostel for future guests, please ensure all advertised services are available. This may minimise your clients need for a room swap.

Hostel is great. Issue we had is with random guy being placed into our WOMEN ONLY room in the middle of the night. Later staff came and took him out but nee guy showed up to sleep in our room the same night. Didnt feel really safe…

Ok service, but very inconvenient location far far from any fun part of Berlin. A strange man knocked on our door at 2 am and said it was ‘housekeeping’, later that morning at 7 am someone else knocked on our door and that woke us up. Advice: spend more money and have a more comfy stay. You will not find it here.
